- Heaven for the sour beer lover. Apply on their website to tap a rare "live barrel" every Tap It Tuesday. Plan to get soaked in beer. They give you a free glass of the beer and a tshirt. Tons of fun.
- Sara TaylorSeptember 10, 2017This place is a must if you like sours and even if you're not so sure. So many to choose from! Lots of outdoor seating as well, though not dog friendly.
- Unless you go in knowing exactly what you want, tasters are where it's at. You can get two 2-oz tasters at a time in order to explore Cascade's bevy of sour options.
- Bin YangNovember 29, 2015Come on Tuesdays at 6:30pm for fresh tapping of fresh cask beer! They serve mostly aged sours here, nothing too funky, using mostly pure lacto strains and local fruits. Delicious. Oh, beware high ABV!
- Ranu RajkarnikarMay 13, 2017If you like sours, this is the place. Some of the best in the country. Do a taster of the whole menu and definitely split a pretzel.
- Outdoor tables on a beautiful summer day with sour beers can't be beat! Honey Ginger Lime, the Vine, and the limited Lemondrop are excellent choices!
- Joe MontesDecember 19, 2020Great outdoor setup for the times of COVID. The tent is spacious and pretty open. There are multiple heating lamps to keep you warm. Treat yourself to a plethora of 2oz pours of beers.
- Nancy AckleyJune 6, 2019Service was amazing, server recommended a flight picked out for me including sours and their cider. They even are vegan friendly with their food menu (vegan soft pretzels!!)
- Dan MillerJune 2, 2015If you like sour beers, this is the best place on Earth. Work your way through the entire tasting menu--everything is good, but everything in the red ale section is beyond delicious.
- CarmelMay 19, 2013Of the 8 tasters I ordered (ALL very good), my favorites were the Vintage Apricot, Bourbon Honey Ginger Lime, and Chocolate Bourbonic. Highly recommend ordering the Dark and White Chocolates to pair!
- Morgan RusnakJuly 8, 2015The end-all, be-all destination for sour beers. Always tapping something new and delicious. Get a few flights and make an afternoon of it on the sunny patio.
- Amir BaharlouMay 30, 2016The sour beer selection is unmatched. Selection of munchies are pretty yummy too. Note: they don't allow dogs on their patio 😢
- BommyJanuary 12, 2015zomg it's sour beer heaven. If available, definitely try the glueh kriek, warm spiced mulled sour cherry ale.
- Anastasia BelozertsevaAugust 2, 2013Great sour beer brewery. Raspberry wheat tasted too much like raspberries for my taste. However, I would like to put in a word for The Vine, Summer Gose and Figaro. Tasting glasses are only $2.
- AndreaFebruary 28, 2015Take advantage of the live from the barrel beers and events like the Tart Fruit Festival. Bring your wine-loving friends who need some encouragement to drink beer.
- Sofia FigueroaJune 17, 2016Only 2 tastings at a time but worth it, tried 16 sour ales in 1 sitting. Make to get a friendly server that will walk you thru the menu.
- Jeremie LandersOctober 7, 2011Ignore the food-bash tip; the food (which always ROTATES) is very high quality and matches the sours perfectly well. I strongly suggest getting ever-changing local charcuterie plate at least! :)
- Chris KelnerOctober 1, 2015Sour beer heaven. Food and snacks are really good too. Friendly wait staff.
- Try the Vine, if it's on tap. Absolutely amazing. It's a blend of barrel aged Blondes that have been refermented with fresh pressed juice of white wine grapes. Phenomenal.
- Oblique coffee blond tastes like instant Folgers with powdered creamer in a styrofoam cup. In the best possible way. This is one of the best beers I have tasted in months.
- @mik3caprioSeptember 13, 2014Getting several small beer samplers is your best bet; try many flavors, and the beer is intense so it's enough just to taste
- Melissa TsangJuly 11, 2016Do every single taster! Love that it's all sour beer (the only type of beer I like). Favorite was Noyaux.
- Amy HollandsDecember 21, 2012Service was GREAT. Cheese plate was DIVINE! I recommend at least TRYING their sour beer line. Really tasty. Layers of flavor. Reminds me if a cider.
- Zach CroweJune 17, 2013Make sure you get some food while you are sampling. Even if it is just a simple appetizer. You'll be thankful later if you are sampling more than 5 of the sours.
- Jennifer YuAugust 18, 2019Yeah y’all weren’t kidding... honey ginger lime is the truth. Dessert bloom was off the menu and my favorite.
- Always my first stop after landing at PDX, and always new beers to try. I recommend Sang Royal, Apricot, Bourbonic Plague, and Blackberry.
- Rick LambertJuly 19, 2019Fantastic venue. Great selection of outstanding sour beers. Extensive list of bottles to go.
- Sara JoyJune 29, 2017Specialty brewery with huge selection of Sour Beers. If you like sour beer, def worth checking out!
- Jenn HutchinsonJuly 3, 2013I don't like beer, never did, never thought I would. However, I actually enjoy the sour beer (specifically honey ginger lime) so that says something about how awesome they are!
- Jake CDecember 28, 2013As a sour beer enthusiast I always make an incredible effort to visit Cascade. The people who work here are the worst. They create an unpleasant environment whenever I visit. Beer is almost worth it.
- Eric GeorgeJuly 19, 2019Sours and sours and sours. They are second to none. Great outdoor space for you to enjoy them.
- Wow! I love the new Vin Diesel (vintage barrel aged diesel - stout brewed with black strap molasses & dark Belgian candy sugar then aged in Heaven Hills Bourbon & Pinot Noir barrels)
- Roger MaJanuary 13, 2016Grab some of their vintage bottles that you won't be able to find back home! #soursfordays
- Emily CharlestonMay 4, 2014The raspberry sour beer is where it's at. Really good quesadilla and pulled pork sandwich!
- Adena BrenowitzSeptember 7, 2018Delicious sour beer menu! Lot's of different and unique options to try.
- Mark HSeptember 12, 2014Biggest and most varied sour selection you'll ever see. Best sours in the Northwest!
- Zack SheppardNovember 15, 2015Go for the live barrels, beer coming straight from the barrel to your glass.
- Adam SimpsonAugust 13, 2013Order the Caesar salad w/artisan bread as a food filler/booze sponge with your beer. It'll stuff your stomach and satisfy your pallet. Pair w/a pint of Cascade IPA.
- Jeremie LandersSeptember 25, 2011The beers aren't all sours... But they are the best beers on tap. ;) Make sure to try The Vine and Noyeaux. Magnifique!
- Here's a secret: you can get pints of beer from Cascade Brewing here. No trips to the west side necessary.
- Jen FoxJune 19, 2013AWESOME sour beer selection. Best of any brewery I've been to (which is over 100!!).
- Salamander SlimSeptember 13, 2017If you can, go to the raccoon lodge. The food is not good at either place, but better there. The beer is great, overpriced, but great. $16 pints is criminal to charge for time and bacteria.
