- Tori MainJuly 19, 2013If you're a tourist, VooDoo will leave you feeling cheap, used and jaded. Go to Blue Star. Order the Valrhona Chocolate Crunch or the fritter or any other donut for that matter. Delicious!!
- cami j.September 7, 2015the lemon poppy seed is the best donut I've had in my life. also loved the blueberry bourbon basil. so much better than voodoo. no contest.
- Chanandler BingJanuary 12, 2017I had the Passion Fruit and Cocoa Nib donut and I have never been more surprised by a pastry in my life. It was tangy and sweet and spicy because of the cyan pepper but it was amazing!!
- cocoMarch 31, 2015quite possibly the best donuts I have ever tasted- unique flavors, fresh, worth any sort of wait. definitely my favorite in portland. quality and flavor unmatched by other donut shops in the city.
- Morgan SAugust 12, 2016Ordered the Raspberry Rosemary and the PB+J (the worker mentioned those were also his two favorites) and they were great! One donut is enough for one person as they are very rich.
- KaitlinNovember 6, 2017The Cointreau crème brûlée donut is simply perfection. A crunchy caramelized outside, a pillowy inside with a lightly sweet, fluffy cream in the middle, and a pipette of orange liqueur to top it off.
- Roniel TesslerSeptember 16, 2016Get the buttermilk donuts as they have the most interesting texture profile. Best donuts are still donut plant in nyc, but this will give you a satisfying bite or two. Lemon poppyseed was my favorite
- AmateurConciergeAugust 27, 2015Obviously delicious donuts with crazy, experimental combos like blueberry, bourbon & basil, that change everyday. Warning for yeast donut lovers, all 3 we tried were cake donuts (albeit brioche cake)
- The brioche dough alone is enough, but add that everything is fresh baked, organic and cooked in rice oil and you're on to a winner with just about anything from the rotating selection.
- Maaham AzizJanuary 21, 2018We had the OG (horchata) and Raspberry Rosemary, which was a little thicker than I expected but still very tasty! Can’t have donuts without coffee :)
- Soph AhmAugust 10, 2019These donuts are the cake type (thicker) and they had such a creative variety of flavors. Personally it was all too sweet for me but split one with two to four people will hit the spot

- Mark Neurohr-PierpaoliApril 1, 2018Blueberry basil bourbon donut was the strangest pastry I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. I crammed 3 different donuts down and wish I could do a 4th.

- H KSeptember 18, 2016Chocolate almond ganache donut was amazing. I preferred "Voodoo Doughnut" store a little more because their donuts looked more creative.
- Unique thing about this donut shop is the grown-up flavors and the consistency of the donut–mix of cakey and yeasty. The donuts are expensive but big, so worth the extra cost. Often sell out by 5.
- Eatosaurus RexFebruary 10, 2015Blue Star Donuts has by far the best donuts in Portland. If you try to compare it to the ridiculously overrated Voodoo Doughnuts I'll smack you. Right in the face. Get the Blueberry Bourbon Basil.

- Mark HeyertOctober 7, 2016These types of donuts do not come in grades of goodness. Just follow your muse. However the jelly selections e.g. the PB&J are unique twists. Highly recommended.
- GNTLMNFebruary 19, 2014Voodoo Donuts is a bit of an experience and available 24/7, but Blue Star is gourmet and keeps it classy. They only stay open until they sell out of donuts, which can be pretty early some days.

- Sahana KumarJanuary 3, 2015Loved the apple fritter. Had raisins in it, yum! Wish there were a few more apple chunks. It was crispy but also soft.
