Pretty cool views going down this street. If you're in a car: beware, there's a long queue and going down this street takes time. If you can, try trekking it up or down.

take the cable car from Ghirardeli sq, and hop off at Lombard.it's tempting but save yourself the trouble of trying to take the best shot from up the street. The real photo deal is down the end of it.

Lombard Street in San Francisco is one of the city's most crookedest streets paved with red bricks and beautiful flower beds and featuring eight hairpin turns downhill.

Be a tourist for a day and take the Powell/Hyde cable car here! Beautiful view of Coit Tower from the top of Lombard.

World's crookest street. Definitely a must. Snap a few photo at the top and bottom of the street. It's a one way. So after snapping yourself some photos, drive down the crooked street.

Take an iconic picture at the top and bottom! At the top, enjoy views of Coit Tower and the city, and at the bottom you'll see the entirety of the crookedest street in San Francisco.

Beatiful by the sunset. Also, I would prefer going there on Summer or Spring so that beatiful greens and flowers are out there. On winter, it seems a bit abandoned without colors :)

This street runs through half of San Francisco. To take pictures at the famous spot I would recommend early morning. Also a cable car line passes by there.

Get a Powell/Hyde or Powell/Mason cable car from Market st./Powell or further to Lombard st. to quickly cover both historic cable car and the famous slope.

Not the crookedest street in San Francisco as the nickname suggests, but if you're visiting and have the time it shouldn't be missed. Lovely views from the Hyde Street end (top). Signed, a SF native.

Interesting drive down this incredibly winding street. Very pretty when viewed from leavenworth street. Make sure you go up the opp side of Lombard and take the winding path down.

Neat place to visit. Lots of tourists on the weekends so expect traffic around that area. Be respectful of the cops helping with the flow of traffic. They're trying to make sure no one gets run over.

Hand your cell phone or camera to your passenger and maneuver the eight tight turns from top to bottom amid the famous manicured hydrangeas. Then look back up: The best photo ops are from the bottom.

Take a drive down a curvy road. Would love to see the locals drive on this with an inch of snow on the ground. I rolled down it in a can, kidding, that's frowned upon.

Can't really see the sharp turns and steepness of the road (unless you're in a helicopter maybe?)... I would hate to live in these apartments with the non-stop tourists and cars!!

Famous for their crooked street. Vantage point is from the top with views of the city, alkatraz, and passing trams. Then at the bottom for a full view of the crooked street.

Board the cable car from Powell/Market Turnaround, make sure to get on the Powell/Hyde St Line, not the Powell/Mason Line. Only Powell/Hyde St Line will bring you to Lombard St.

Don't take Lombard up from the bottom. You'll wait forever in the line of cars waiting to reach the summit. Instead join from a side street. It's only sort of cutting.

World-famous crazy-crooked street, as seen perhaps most famously in 1968 film "Bullit" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062765/) car chase scene. (Star Steve McQueen did his own stunt driving.)

Take the Powell-Hyde cable car from Chinatown and get off at the top of the Lombard zigzag -- unless you like walking uphill. Continue your tour DOWNHILL along Lombard and up to the Coit Tower.

Winding its way through San Fran, Lombard St was built as a solution for cars that could not climb the 27% incline of the hill. Drive or stroll this famous road, but remember the speed limit is 5mph!

Prior to implementing the hairpin turns, Lombard Street was originally a straight, cobblestone street with a steep 27 percent grade too difficult for cars to drive through.

This is a great place for jackwads to make fun of tourists because they have nothing else better to do with their lives but once you get passed that take a picture and don't get hit by oncoming cars.
