- EaterMarch 26, 2013It's tempting to overlook a place like Beaver's as it settles into a comfortable middle age, but that would mean missing out a place that still has a talented bar staff making creative cocktails.
- Houston PressSeptember 26, 2014During HH $1 off all drafts, $2 off cocktails, $5 carafes of trash can punch, & $4 house wines. Also, bar snacks like pimiento cheese risotto tots, hotwings, & our fav bbq-beef-loaded queso around. Read more
- William WoodFebruary 1, 2015Loved the Tots-N-Shots cool twist on tots. Any of the Mac-N-Cheeses! I had a Duck Reuben, but it's not on the menu anymore. Big portions, so splitting is a good way to try stuff out.
- Local Houston MagazineAugust 3, 2014The fried pickles are not to be missed. Pickle spears, not slices (makes a HUGE difference) are tempura-like battered and served with chipotle ranch sauce. Delish! Read more
- Work your way through the entire drink menu. Every drink is worth the wait (all drinks made with care take time) & the cash (although happy hour can help your wallet). Snap, Crackle n Mint = my fav.
- Eric HenaoMarch 24, 2017Chicken Fried Steak. Get it along with an app or addition side and you have a meal for two, easy. Super delicious, one of the best in Houston!
- EaterOctober 5, 2011It's quirky, it's in a cool neighborhood and it's got great food. Ironically, it was originally billed as a bbq restaurant, but it's the other stuff that gets them noticed. [Eater 38 Member]

- Kate AndersonFebruary 24, 2013Two things and two things only need to be ordered the Mac and cheese and beaver balls AMAZING!!!!!!! Everything else is really tasty as well but those two take it all

- Place to-go orders extra early. Never been less than double the time they've promised. Great food! Service-lax and perhaps to a detriment. Love this place when the service is good.
- Crystal G.September 21, 2011The mac n' cheese is awesome. The bacon biscuit omelet is wonderful and the gravy is super good! The beaver balls are a must try. Everything is DAM good! You won't be disappointed.

- Angela ManessApril 7, 2012Smoked duck special was excellent. I'd come back just for the duck. Pass on the beef shoulder - tough and not all that smokey.
- Unpredictable service. Are frequently "out" of portions of dishes on menu, but you won't find out until something unexpected lands in front of you. Manager was less than apologetic.
- Chicken fried steak with smoky mash, creamy Mac and cheese. For dessert, amazing fries brownie balls!!!!
