Beautiful temple and place. The best time to be there is when the sunset time is coming, because the sun light will reflect direct on the gold temple.

beautiful place. there are a small cafe that offer outside or inside Japanese house. they serve tea and sugar cake . the sugar cake are awesome and you can by more for home.

Absolutely stunning. It’s 400 Yen entrance per person and there are a few different temples inside to see. As you exit there are some vendors on the left, you have to try the green tea ice cream

The pvilion is really pretty - surely the highlight in the Kinkaku-ji. We've even saw a crane and lots of carps!

Gorgeous site but kind of out of the way and extremely packed compared to other sites. A bit hard to enjoy the serenity of the shrine.

The building's first purpose was a residence of a retiring Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu (1358-1409).The gold-leaf-adorned building was converted into a Zen temple shortly after his death #TravelingKyoto

It’s beautiful, obviously, but slammed with tourists and cameras. I went at sunset and was insane.

Yes it's super crowded but it'll not show in your pictures. I think you'll be done in 30 min. Entrance fee is 400 yen.

Totally worth it but make sure to arrive super early to avoid the millions of people around trying to get a picture

Too many people, too many! It left a bad taste. I would limit the quantity of people who are in and out of the place. This Pavilion should have that serenity Japan is famous for. This was a shit show.

【旧国宝】…意外なことに舎利殿は国宝はおろか国の重要文化財にも指定されていません。昭和25年(1906)に学僧の放火により全焼、同時に国宝の足利義満坐像等10体の木像等も失いました。現在の舎利殿(金閣)は昭和27年から三年かけての再建〜昭和61年2月から昭和62年10月までの昭和大修復をへたものです。

金閣寺は何度訪れてもその美しさに引き込まれます。御朱印『舎利殿』。力強い字体と朱色の印の組み合わせが気に入っています。出口近くの不動堂近くの御朱印所で頂けます。

Eu sinceramente esperava que fosse maior e que se pudesse entrar no prédio principal. Vale vir, mas se vc já visitou templos na Tailândia, vai achar que é superestimado.

池の向こう側に写真を撮る人が集中するが、夕方(晩秋〜初冬の15時頃)は裏側からも陽ざしが当たって綺麗に輝く金閣を見ることができる。

舎利殿(金閣)は国宝、重要文化財格を失いましたが、鏡湖池(きょうこち)を中心とした池泉回遊式庭園は国の特別史跡・特別名勝です。金閣が水面に映る景色は季節を問わず絶景です。
