- Judith RooskenSeptember 27, 2017Even though this temple is surrounded by hundreds of tourists, she remains her beautiful serene self! Must see when in Kyoto.Upvoted 1 week ago
- WilliamJanuary 20, 2013Beautiful temple and place. The best time to be there is when the sunset time is coming, because the sun light will reflect direct on the gold temple.
- MohammadApril 24, 2017beautiful place. there are a small cafe that offer outside or inside Japanese house. they serve tea and sugar cake . the sugar cake are awesome and you can by more for home.Upvoted Mar 9
- Julia LFebruary 26, 2019Absolutely stunning. It’s 400 Yen entrance per person and there are a few different temples inside to see. As you exit there are some vendors on the left, you have to try the green tea ice cream
- Lisa StarbucksApril 3, 2017The pvilion is really pretty - surely the highlight in the Kinkaku-ji. We've even saw a crane and lots of carps!
- Sofia PapastamelosApril 10, 2018Gorgeous site but kind of out of the way and extremely packed compared to other sites. A bit hard to enjoy the serenity of the shrine.
- A HazetNovember 14, 2019The building's first purpose was a residence of a retiring Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu (1358-1409).The gold-leaf-adorned building was converted into a Zen temple shortly after his death #TravelingKyoto
- KennyNovember 12, 2018It’s beautiful, obviously, but slammed with tourists and cameras. I went at sunset and was insane.
- Manon Van Buren 🎈May 29, 2019Yes it's super crowded but it'll not show in your pictures. I think you'll be done in 30 min. Entrance fee is 400 yen.
- Dan Mondragón SomeraMay 15, 2018Totally worth it but make sure to arrive super early to avoid the millions of people around trying to get a picture
- The Ritz-CarltonAugust 9, 2016This Zen Buddhist temple, reflected in its adjoining “mirror pond” with its small islands of rock and pine, is perhaps the most widely recognized image of Kyoto.
- Federal Mr.November 19, 2016I have pics which I took them posing in front of this Golden Pavilion. It was 2012. Miss the time.
- Karolina 🦖April 17, 2016Too bad you can't get closer to the Pavilion, but the view is still gorgeous!
- K BNovember 24, 2018Too many people, too many! It left a bad taste. I would limit the quantity of people who are in and out of the place. This Pavilion should have that serenity Japan is famous for. This was a shit show.
- Stefanie ZhangJune 4, 2017It's a nice temple, but way too many people, it is not enjoyable to go there.
- Jenkin A.February 18, 2020Meh. Steal other people's picture and go somewhere else if you're pressed for time.
http://www.shokoku-ji.jp/k_live.html
- Massara Nati …September 17, 2013【
