Main train station in Florence and centrally located. Easy walk to most of the town center. Pretty straight forward. Make sure to get your tickets validated unless you have pre purchased tix in hand.
It seems like a nightmare. But tickets at the machines! Get a Firenze pass next to church on right hand side for quick and easier access to museums and sites it's worth if it u are going to go around!
The screen will show the final destination of your train - not each stop in between. I ur on Trenitalia then look at the screens that scroll that show you each stop to make sure ur on the right train!
Welcome to our favourite city in the world! The Florentine is your source for English-language events &news, as well as tips. Let's start with one now: the pharmacy in this station is open 24h ;-) Read more
The farmacia at the station is the best in town as all the workers speak good English and offer you generics (something the more centrally located famachi tend not to offer to you).
The station is used by 59 million people every year and is one of the busiest in Italy. Very good the service with Train by Freccia Rossa to Milan, Rome, Venice, Naples and Bologna.
Depart from Florence station to Rome! The que for ticket can be time consuming ( take a number and wait) I mean literally WAITED for nearly 40 mins until being called.Or use the machine purchase (PIN)
The station is also used by regional trains on lines connecting to Pisa, Livorno, Lucca, Viareggio, Siena, Poggibonsi, Arezzo, Grosseto, Prato, Bologna, Faenza, etc...

Don't try to buy your ticket at a machine last minute unless you have a pin for your credit card! Take the bus out front. Same price as train and you have an attendant to buy ticket & AC on the Bus!
Luggage storage is near track 16 when you’re inside the platforms. If you leave, go outside, with the tracks at your back, turn left to go outside the station and then hand a left.
If you don't need to take all your luggage with you, leave it at the luggage deposit on platform 16. It's cheap and safe - and lets you move around more easily.
if you don't want to pay to use the bathroom , go to the mcdonalds in the station... sometimes there are deals for tickets so make sure to ask at the counter...especially if you are younger than 26..
Biglietterie e Ufficio Informazioni al piano terra, nella galleria di testa. Inoltre, presso i binari centrali (9, 10, 11 e 12) è attivo un desk mobile
