- Ray LinSeptember 4, 2013Hard to find solid ramen spots in this neck of the woods, so a welcome addition. Try the house HinoMaru ("New York" style) with chashu and other toppings sitting in a creamy pork broth.
- Jan CantorNovember 2, 2014One of the decent ramen spot in Queens. Get their house specialty, Hinomaru. Tonkotsu Shoyu is pretty good as well. If you're looking for an appetizer, get those crispy pig ears! It's pretty damn good
- David ShimazakiFebruary 18, 2018Uni ramen hits the spot. Creamy + umami in each slurp. Perfect amount of sea urchin and the noodles we're bouncy in the perfect way..
- Christina ChinJuly 20, 2016Got the hinomaru, spicier than expected but still good. Like the thin straight al dente noodles. Egg is extra. Gyoza is only 4 per order
- Best Ramen in Queens. Takoyaki and Uni Ramen are my picks. The spicy miso ramen is also a win. The Tonkotsu is for those who don't want a lot of spice.
- Any ramen is amazing. My favorites are hinomaru and tonkatsu. Curry ramen is really good as well. Pork buns, yes do it. Beers on draft are a bit sketchy, some options may not be available
- Kimmie OhhJuly 7, 2019Really friendly service over here. Order their signature HinoMaru Ramen. It comes with Chashu pork, black mushroom, bamboo, scallions, bean sprouts, nori, fishcake & fireball (not spicy imo).
- Marcello MApril 22, 2014Shio (sea salt) is my favorite ramen broth. But everything here is good. Check out the Chinese broccoli and crispy tempura. Pork belly and kimchi is also a hit.
- Rui ZhangJanuary 6, 2015I bookmarked this place before and judging by their tonkostu, I think it is slightly overrated. My friend ordered the spicy miso, which surprisingly appear to be amazing. The fireball was the bomb.
- Nick GJune 27, 2017Hinomaru Ramen was the noodle diggity. The broccoli tempura is perfectly prepared. Japanese imported Ginga beer to wash it all down makes for a big smile in the end. Get you some .
- If they have the asparagus appetizer on the menu, DO IT! It's lightly battered (not full-on tempura) and drizzled with a delicious sauce. Seriously one of the best things I've eaten here.
- LarryOctober 19, 2015HinoMaru ramen with poached egg for the win. This place smells outrageously delicious. Curious soundtrack of 80s music. The fire all adds spicy depth to a delicious broth.
- DailyCandyJanuary 14, 2014Sample variations of regional ramen — and then some — from around Japan at this Queens noodle nook. The can’t-miss Sapporo-style miso ramen involves a broth made from more than 30 ingredients.
- Michael GenaoDecember 6, 2014Decent neighborhood ramen place. Great appetizers or tapas. Do not expect to find the same quality grade as in ippudo or totto but overall a great experience and no lines to get in on a rainy day!!
- Delicious and belly-filling, you can't go wrong with anything, but be sure to ask about specials. The Tonkotsu Shoyu is quite possibly the best soup I've ever had, and the gyoza are great too!
- Rory ParnessFebruary 16, 2015Ask for some spicy mayo to dip the crispy pig's ears. Makes a good appt even better. Asparagus was a terrific as well. Super crispy and loved the sauce
- Cole KennedyJanuary 9, 2020The HinoMaru Signature Ramen (pictured) is great, but I preferred the Spicy Miso Ramen with wavy noodles and extra corn.
- No matter which ramen you choose, be sure to add in a poached egg. When broken, the yolk creates this creamy rich texture that cannot be beat. Top it off with some corn and BYOB. Slurp away everyone!
- SunainaOctober 6, 2014Love the ramen here. I've tried all the ramen places in the city. I can say this is def amongst my fav... The lemon grass chicken is really good.
- Shoryu ramen is my go-to (I'm a spice wuss). This place is fantastic. The pork buns are amazing but a tad overpriced.
- jon ferrerAugust 23, 2014The best ramen in Astoria. Get the hinomaru ramen. Or if you're feeling adventurous, go for the uni-parmesan.
- Monserrat AAugust 20, 2014Get a spicy ramen with poached eggs. Sit at the bar and check out the cool art towards the bathrooms. Quickly became one of my favorite ramen.
- Time Out New YorkJune 4, 2013The Sapporo-style miso ramen broth boasts more than twenty ingredients, including three types of umami-boosting miso, plus a piquant seven-pepper spice blend. Read more
- My favorite is Shoyu ramen with extra cha-shu pork. Other menu highlights include the kimchi with cha-shu and the gyoza. Cheap pitchers of Sapporo too!
- Jenn HMay 8, 2014Very cool and funky little shop. I ordered the tonkaysu ramen with poached egg and thought it was ok only. Would like to return and try something else. Great music and vibe.
- The broth from the Hinomaru ramen is just spectacular! Great flavor at a so convenient prices. Do yourselves a favor asking for the pork niku man.
- I really love the Brussels sprouts here.. If I'm not particularly hungry I'd get 2 appetizers and one of them has to be Brussels sprouts.. Sooo good
- Gary MuSeptember 29, 2012Nagoya ramen is great for those who likes spicy taste. Kinda like tan-tan noodle. Add extra fireball then you are in heaven.
- Evan StaffJanuary 8, 2015Best (spicy) miso ramen I've had, though the included fireball was cold, and the broth of my companion's tonkatsu was a bit on the watery side.
- cat cajiFebruary 7, 2019menu has something for everyone, the ramen is delicious! fast and excellent service.
- Fizzie WaterJuly 22, 2012If you're reading this then make sure your next meal is here. Start with the Age Takoyaki and make sure you try the Uni Ramen, that creamy broth is to die for.
- The Lemongrass Chicken Ramen is my favorite. Skip the poached egg though, it ruins the broth flavor.
- Ellie DDecember 4, 2012Worth the trip for this no-fuss, no-wait lovely ramen joint in Astoria. Get the "fire ball" for more extra flavor than heat (in a good way).
- Vince FrisinaMarch 13, 2020The Kara Chanpon has a rich, spicy flavor and generous portions of seafood.
- Ellie DDecember 4, 2012Worth the trip for this no-fuss, no-wait stylish ramen joint in Astoria. Get the "fire ball" for more flavor than heat (in a good way).
- Good bowl of ramen. Thin noodles the fireball is a spicy ball of ground pork. A hood add on to any bowl.
- Joey CofoneApril 19, 2013This is the best ramen place I've had in the city, hands down. Chicken Meatball Ramen with a Fireball dropped in. You're welcome.
- The Wall Street JournalMay 2, 2012Try the Nagoya, made with a chicken, pork and fish broth filled with minced pork, Chinese leek, scallion, bean sprouts and chili pepper. Read more
- The staff is very friendly. The girls are cute. And, the ramen is just damn awesome, especially the Miso! Totemo oeshi! (hope I spelled that right ;p)
- CherylAugust 26, 2014Everything here is delicious! Try the uni ramen for something different. It's not soup-based and creamy instead.
- ilYa DvilyanskiAugust 25, 2013Everything here is great. Sometimes their credit card machine "breaks" so have cash. Feels like you're in Japan when you're here
- Monserrat ANovember 16, 2012I would gladly make the trip to Astoria to have some of their curry Ramen any day!! Attentive, impressive and priced very nicely.
- Casey McDermottNovember 22, 2014I'm a ramen snob but this place's flavors are legit. As everyone else says, make sure you get a fireball.
- Try the hinomaru ramen and add a poached egg. So good! It also comes w/ monkey fish cake.
- Nice, simple ramen place. Try the Hinomaru ramen... or something else and add a fireball. Yum!
- Finella Jianna VillaluzApril 9, 2017Go for their miso ramen and kale chips. Good food and good ambiance. :)
- Tonkatsu shoyu broth is delicious and comes with everything you need, but drop in a pork rib or kaedeme if you're feeling gluttonous
