- PaddyApril 16, 2016I love my small independent coffee places and this is definitely a good one. Small selection of pastries and very good espresso coffee. Nice staff and seating for about 10 people inside.
- Hands down, my favorite place for espresso drinks in NYC. Get a cortado and enjoy the hardwork of others. Went here on my wedding day, foursquare should tag prodigy as "good for wedding days"
- Maren ElizabethDecember 31, 2015The macchiato changed my life. I stopped in once on a whim and picked it randomly off the menu. It was the first time I actually tasted notes in an espresso. A little pricey but worth EVERY PENNY.
- One of my fave places in NYC. Wonderful staff, a place to hang out, bring your dog and chill. Epitome of a neighborhood coffee place.
- Andrew FurmanAugust 26, 2015Solid iced coffee and a decent amount of seating to do work. Also love the wood flooring.
- Alex RainertMay 22, 2013If you like babka, you owe it to yourself to get up in the chocolaty delicious loaf of goodness they sell here. Hot damn it's good. Just look at it!!!
- Get the "Undertow." Simple syrup, hot espresso, and cold milk taken as a single shot. Great warm/cold thing going on. To be drunk on premises only.
- More author and professor types frequent this place. Cortados are unique, and they make great latte art on cappuccinos. Everyone's super friendly.
- Lori LuoSeptember 16, 2014A cute café with a handful of seats serving up excellent coffee and a few sweet treats. The coffee beans are roasted in Brooklyn, and sourced from fair-trade organizations.
- Solid new spot in Greenwich Village. The line tends to get a bit crowded in the mornings, but the staff is friendly, very attentive, and the latte is solid.
- Super solid new coffee spot serving cortados, too. Best joe near the new @weworklabs Varick location. Cardcase works here, but they use the old paper loyalty card. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
- David BanJuly 8, 2014Nice shop, nice people. For the iced coffee snobs out there - their iced coffee is actually a combo of hot & cold brewed coffees. Not bad, just not full-on cold brew.
- olivier PEYRENovember 2, 2014Cute staff, and best macchiato in the neighborhood. The raisin rolls don't hurt either.
- Great people, great coffee. On of the best cappuccinos in the area.
- Kley SippelDecember 5, 2012Excellent coffee; I had a soy mocha. On the pricy side, but they drink rely deliver in quality. No wifi which at first was a letdown, but I was nice to not have the distraction of work.
- Gabriel HayesAugust 31, 2015Get the original Frost Bite. A delicious iced coffee treat made with cold brew over shaved ice. Like the best coffee snow cone.
- Lauren MacOctober 10, 2015Ham and cheese croissants here are very tasty, and the cappuccinos are high quality. Hope to be back soon!
- The skim iced mocha is a masterful combination of espresso and dark chocolate.. refreshing, not overbearing.
- Gunnar AasenApril 26, 2015Nice place to hang out for the morning. They don't have wifi but it's possible to steal it from some of the neighboring shops. Also no bathroom.
- darnisha bishopAugust 12, 2016It's a small place, probably not the best for a long work session. But pop in for a coffee, sit down, and enjoy a good book.
- JinniMay 2, 2013Aside from their namesake specialty, they also carry Harney & Sons teas and nunu chocolate covered espresso beans.
- Great coffee (roasted in Brooklyn!) and a nice selection of pastries in a great environment.
- They serve up a mean espresso here. Some of the best coffee in West Village.
- Slam dunk iced coffee. Though, if you're looking for anything else I'd roll around the corner to Jack's Stirbrew.
- EatMeDrinkMeNYCFebruary 7, 2014One of the few spots serving George Howell coffee, prodigy is a solid stop for the West Village.
- L BMay 23, 2013Try the cinnamon bread. If you like cinnamon rolls you'll be in heaven with this delicious bread.
- Coffee is great, it's also nice to work there. They don't have wifi, but you can usually grab it from a surrounding place.
- The lighting...the mirror, no...the painting; ok, whatever you go in there for, stay for one of the best lattes in the city !!!
- Jess ArnoldDecember 30, 2015Just got a plain latte. The roast tasted bitter at first but evolved into a much smoother flavor over time. I was pleased overall.

- Frank RimalovskiAugust 4, 2014The cinnamon babka, is sick! If you don't know what babka is just get it.
- wish they would just show the total price of iced coffee rather than making me know I'm paying $0.50 extra for the ice
- Great pour overs. I prefer the fruitier varieties, like the El Salvador.
- Marta KirsisMarch 22, 2013I love the coffee here but just WAY overpaid for a pastry. They don't have those prices listed. Sneaky.
- Benton PeretSeptember 19, 2013Came on a rainy day with Suz, enjoyed the paper and great cup of coffee.
