Rewarding view after a barefoot climb up a sheltered stairway. Avoid the 200kyat fee for shoes at the foot of the hill, the 1000 kyat fee for cameras at the top is fully worth it

If you have time you can avoid tourists by walking about 500 steps up and see another section and other buddhas midway, before you meet your driver on the hill to take you up to the escalators section

There's an elevator that goes all the way to the top - it can be accessed from the car park. Worth noting for wheelchair access if needed.

You have to climb barefoot. Watch for sharp edges and countless animal dung scattered like minefields all over the place. Also some pretty disturbing sculptures.

Couldn't see any evidence of a camera fee - instead it now seems to be a flat Ks1000 fee to go to the top level if you're a foreigner. The free level below is still pretty good for sunsets.

Pay 500 kyat to bring your camera in. Well worth it if only to capture the gorgeous view. Keep your toes safe on the escalator as you step on them barefoot!

Great place to enjoy the sunset. Also, as of Oct 2013 the camera fee is 1000 kyat. It's well worth it.

Top view with sunset in Mandalay. Better come by car than walk by 7,292 steps to top of the hill.

Not much to see. Should go in early morning or sunset. Noon is too much sunlight to take pics. Camera fee 1000kyats but everybody sometimes ignore this.

Beautiful view of the city and surrounds. The steps to the top are a nice workout too.

View is abysmal due to the constant haze in myanmar and rather overrated.

Bei gutem Wetter toller Blick auf Mandalay und Umgebung. Aufstieg zu Fuss ist recht anstrengend.
