- Lori LuoAugust 11, 2014This Alphabet City bar is one of the best gems in the 'hood. Come for an excellent variety of small plates and cocktails, such as the Pearls of the East and Wylie's Cherry Flip.
- Jinnie LOctober 15, 2014If u want to drink till dawn this is the place. they open till 4am so it's pretty much dawn right? tehehe ;P fabulous cocktail bar♡ garden variety margarita n smoked & roasted = to die for!!
- Sarah MackeyJuly 15, 2015The happy hour from 5-7 is amazing! The oysters are the best I have ever had and only $1 each. The oyster shooters are only $5 and delicious and any of their $7 cocktails on special are fantastic!
- Larissa AlvarezMarch 18, 2018Very inconspicuous with no sign or address outside.Great food(the pernil sandwich was amazing), cocktails(had many rosè sours) and music. The most amazing were the bartenders! So good at what they do!
- Every whiskey cocktail is delicious. Live music on Sunday nights. And make sure you end the night with a spicy Tecate - ask for "the works."
- My favorite place, esp on Sunday or pre-Thurs weeknight (crowded is no fun). Every cocktail is great, but I loved the Sarsaparilla Sour before they discontinued it. Homemade root beer, that is all! :D
- Nikki BogopolskayaMarch 24, 2017The Wayland is the perfect bar. Consistently great music, always full but never too crowded, reasonably priced cocktails and a great snack menu - it's reliable and always fun!
- Great weekday spot. Live jazz! All the signature cocktails are delicious (I especially love the garden variety marg) and the food is good too. Packed beyond belief and stoopid on the weekends.
- Awesome environment, I always have a great time with friends here. I hear banjos if you like a little campfire smoke with your old fashioned-- pretentious but it can be tasty.
- Alex RobertsonOctober 24, 2017the pernil Romero is a god level bar snack but it is thirteen dollars! As are all of the house cocktails. Bangin playlist leans heavily Soulquarians--Badu, Dilla, and their influences
- The sister bar to Goodnight Sonny, don't overlook the food menu at this cocktail spot. Sausage bread with ricotta is UNREAL and happy hour specials on oysters (and shooters)
- There are four sandwiches on the menu. Holy smokes, are they all good. Great live music and super authentic atmosphere. This is the way a neighborhood bar should be.
- ShahSeptember 7, 2015Solid cocktails & food. My favorite of the evening was the Smoked & Roasted. Gets crazy busy, so get here early on the weekends. And stay clear of the Garden Margarita.
- Carolynn ChoiJuly 11, 2016The Wayland is known for their unique drinks, but their brunch is also top notch. Order the breakfast tacos if you want to start your day with a savory kick!
- EaterFebruary 19, 2013The scene is Americana and the cocktails are savory and eclectic, employing everything from kale juice in the Garden Variety Margarita to Szechuan peppers in the Track Town Fizz.
- Come on a weekday night to avoid the fratty crowds that have begun to invade ABC city. Order the moxie and the sausage bread. You won't be disappointed.
- The cocktail menu is constantly changing, but you'll always be pleasantly surprised by their unique and seasonal creations. Oh plus they have oysters.
- Ryan NantellJune 23, 2017Via Infatuation: great cocktails. Not uptight. cozy. always-lively. Small menu. Brunch on weekends. live music certain days. Passable location for when your tourist friend wants to visit St Marks.
- Caterina AbballeDecember 6, 2015My friend and I had the burrata and a whole bunch of cocktails and other things. We went for brunch so the bar was nice and quiet. All of it was amazing the bartenders are the nicest.
- Andrew DollDecember 31, 2014Fun bar that's always open late! Has a semi-divey (a good thing!) atmosphere with lively attitude. Best part is a well-executed and delicious craft cocktail menu from talented bartenders!
- JordanJanuary 31, 2018There’s something for everyone at this bar with no bad seat in the house, oysters, good music and smooth bartenders. FOOD TILL LAST CALL. The Philosopher’s Stone of neighborhood bars.
- Amanda FordJune 30, 2013The garden variety margherita is bomb! Blue agave blanco tequila, ginger, agave nectar, lime, kale juice and smoked sea salt!!
- Tony XerriDecember 6, 2013Had myself the Moxie cocktail which is similar to an old fashioned but most certainly spicier. Great place to meet people and the waitress definitely knows how to multitask. Gotta try the oysters too!
- Gina GusbyJanuary 10, 2016This place is fun.. It's a staple of Alphabet City .. The bartenders are friendly and prepare great cocktails. Food is delicious as well. We had the Sausage bread and Milk & honey .
- KamAugust 27, 2014The atmosphere is nice and cozy, perfect for a date or a chill evening with a few friends. The cocktails are delicious--I felt like I was drinking a healthy juice and not an alcoholic beverage.
- ChristinaMay 30, 2016The burrata is really amazing. Followed by breakfast tacos and a smoked & roasted (mezcal, pineapple, chipotle agave), then coffee from Ninth Street Espresso around the corner.
- Raphael LangenscheidtOctober 3, 2015Come for a pre-dinner drink to avoid the crowds. $1 oysters are great, and the 'Old Gold' is weird but incredibly delicious.
- The "I hear banjos" is a must-have, nowhere does a smoke cocktail as well as this. In general, though, their brown spirit cocktails are pretty strong.
- Nancy KangAugust 23, 2013Try my fave drink here, the Simmer Sequel! A perfect blend of watermelon, tarragon & some other delish ingredients. Light, refreshing, not too sweet.
- Matthew FergusonFebruary 20, 2017Wow, this place is incredible in every way. Get the Crispy Cauliflower and the Beast Bread. All the cocktails are awesome, just like you'd expect in Alphabet City.
- Andrew WiebeOctober 21, 2015Great cocktails, often live music, cozy bar for two but plenty of groups, too. Try I Hear Banjos for what I'm going to call a "performance drink" that's also delicious.
- Ellen PetitOctober 29, 2015I really liked this place! Great cocktails, lovingly crafted. Don't get the hype on that green stuff margarita though... You wanna take any of the other great drinks!
- Drinks are amongst the best in the city but don't sleep on their small menu. Amazing oysters and snacks to enable you to drink more of their craft cocktails.
- Two words: Pernil Romero. So good I couldn't take a picture soon enough. Trust me.
- Chelsea RenaudAugust 30, 2015Basically a refined frat party for adults on weekend evenings. The environment has a barn-like look, and is also a good spot for brunch. Kale margaritas are on point.
- Christopher PepeOctober 13, 2013Listen, the cocktails are fantastic and so is the music. Come here earlier when there aren't so many people and order yourself a pork sandwich. You can thank me later.
- Nick LosiFebruary 25, 2017The "I Hear Banjos - Encore" is certainly a terrific, multi-sensory bit of theater, and a damn fine drink at that, but it was the Garden Variety Margarita that left me wordless.
- Michael SheehanJune 19, 2015Ask for James! Bartender from Michigan who has been in NYC for a while. He will hook it up. Oh and the place closes at 4:00 AM. Great Moscow Mules.
- Jeremy LermitteJanuary 24, 2013Formerly Banjo Jim's, and now a fancy cocktail bar, the Wayland does not disappoint with excellent cocktails. They even have some vestiges of the old live music joint in the corner of the bar.
- Love this place, take advantage of the great cocktail choice during happy hour 4pm till 7pm Monday to Friday. Friendly and talented bar staff
- Ani ZNovember 10, 2013Mmm the garden marg and the banjo is a must. If you're feeling daring, get a Ducati :) or ask the bartender to make a few old fashioneds. Mm mm goodness!
- Harry RaymondMarch 22, 2016Excellent cocktails and lively, laid back atmosphere make for a fun night out for the 27-something crowd.
- Bobby NooromidAugust 4, 2015The Garden Variety Margarita is one of the best cocktails I've ever had. And their bartenders are cool, too!
- Kendra BorowskiSeptember 8, 2016Awesome bartenders and great cocktails. Only bummer is how crowded and loud it can get.
- JeffreyDecember 16, 2013A totally relaxed atmosphere and a set of delicious eats contribute to the enjoyment of some excellent cocktails here. They take their preparation very seriously...
- Great neighborhood bar. Cocktails and food. Get The moxie, spicy tequila drinks. Brussels, beast toast and milk & honey toast
- EvanJanuary 30, 2013Super crowded on the weekends; go Monday through Wednesday for best results. The bartenders make damn fine classic cocktails, but go for the kale margarita if you're feeling fancy.
