- Victoria TeoNovember 20, 2012Inexpensive, good & nice dim sum. The only bad thing is the queue will be very long so you have to go early to get a number. Their signature is the bbq roasted pork buns. Must try!
- Sonya HJune 17, 2012To repeat others, the pork buns and shrimp dumplings are amazing. The wait after 9pm wasn't too bad either. You can ask for the English menu while you're waiting so you have your order ready.
- Mika RahkonenNovember 1, 2012It can be a struggle to get in. If you do, after the reservation number thing and all the queueing, be sure to get the pork buns. Whoah. It will be worth your time.
- Garren DuJanuary 5, 2012BBQ Roast Pork bun is the best I have ever had. Other dim sum items are so so at best. Price is very economical tho. Unless you show up at 9a, I suggest you buy it for takeout (30 min wait vs 3 hrs.)
- alphacityguidesDecember 1, 2012The cheapest restaurant in the Michelin guide and they don't take reservations. Plan on getting here at least 2 hours before eating. PS, the washroom floor is slippery. Super slippery....
- Fuyuhiko TakayaJanuary 14, 2012I enjoyed various dim sums in 5/1 2010. This michelin started restaurant is really busy (maybe you must wait for more than 1h). My fave is the prawn dumpling. See the link for the one of photos! Read more
- Pei KeiJune 17, 2012Very good dim sum available here despite waiting for 3 hours. Had to get a ticket and come back for seats.. <3 da fried pork bun and har kaw.. Must try!
- mark cMarch 13, 2012Cheap Michelin restaurant serving dumplings. Be ready for a 2 hour line up unless you get there at 10am. If you had to choose only one dish, the deep fried pork buns are fantastic.
- NokiaAugust 23, 2011Experience an affordable and modest Michelin-star restaurant! Its dim sum chef used to work at three-star Michelin restaurant Lung King Heen at the Four Seasons. No reservation needed.
- MichelleOctober 10, 2010Amazing value (3 of us stuffed our faces for $140!) Thought we arrived post lunch rush but still had to wait 50mins. Simple, delicious, definitely rate the char siu bau - we took some away!
- CHI ResidencesAugust 24, 2011Michelin Starred Tin Ho Wan is world renowned for being the cheapest restaurant in The Michelin Guide. The wait is long (usually 2 hours +) but it is worth it.
- Gino BorromeoNovember 29, 2011The baked bun with barbece pork lives up to the hype. Other standouts are the custard bun and chicken feet. Expect at least a 2 hour wait so bring some entertainment to keep you occupied.
- APRILIDERFebruary 16, 2012Yep it was worth the wait. Place is too small and hence the long wait. Still not sure why they have not considered expansion. The shar siew po lor Bao takes the gong. Check it out.
- JynxDecember 11, 2012I was lucky. My wait was 10 mins on a weekday night around 630pm. The roast pork bun was very good, melt in the mouth but that's it. The rest of the items which I have tried are not up to standard.
- Shan. XCDecember 14, 2012While waiting, walk towards Mongkok for hot n freshly baked egg tarts nearby at Sakurashima bakery. They are moving this main branch to Olympian City in Jan 13.
- JuhanaDecember 15, 2011If possible go alone. I visited Tim Ho Wan during lunch time and waited less than five minutes.. Food was good!
- Some GuyJanuary 29, 2013Come before 8.30. No one was queuing so I took a stroll around the area. Came back at 9am and I'm behind over 10 people.
- Daniel HowellsNovember 19, 2012Most definitely worth the wait for the BBQ pork buns alone. Cut the waiting time down and get take-away: I waited "only" 30 minutes
- Kae Yen WongMay 4, 2011One of the best. Get here early, it's worth the wait! Must try the BBQ pork buns.
- Rachel PSeptember 28, 2012Come by 9:30 to get in the first seating. Get char siew buns. Lots of them.
- Jimmy GaoJanuary 25, 2011Pretty good but not worth the 40+ minutes wait. Best strategy - call ahead for a dozen Cha Siu Bao (the only thing that really stands out) to go (even takeout can be a 20+ min wait). 2332-2896
- Jeremy FisherDecember 14, 2012The most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant in the world. Outstanding dim sum
- Shan. XCDecember 14, 2012Long wait for good dim sum! Opens at 10.30am now; round 2 starts at 3.30pm (av wait is 2-2.5hr - with number and return to be seated)
- Stephen PunwasiDecember 28, 2011Bring your own soap if you want to wash your hands :-D....and newspaper for the floors if you don't want to slip while you pee
- Travel ChannelNovember 18, 2011Stop in for some inexpensive dim sum. As seen on Travel Channel’s The Layover with Anthony Bourdain.
- Brianna YeaEun KwakJuly 8, 2012Service is on the poor side... wait can be terribly long (2hrs in my case), and i wonder if it realy was worth the wait. there are at least 2 more timhowan (1 in IFC, 1 in kowloon).
- Wasim KOctober 20, 2010Best dumpling place. Michelin rated hole in the wall usually a 2 hour wait and a half block line
- Jessica LeeMay 1, 2011Average wait time of 2 hours if you're not in line before they open. Food is above average for the price but not worth the hype. Only a small handful of items on the menu are outstanding.
- snarkattackJanuary 19, 2011Learn your numbers in Cantonese because if you miss them calling your number, you'll have to wait longer.
- JamesApril 4, 2012They give out numbers at 10am and 4pm or so, about 130 numbers at 10am etc. expect super long wait.
- APRILIDERFebruary 16, 2012There is no tissue paper and soap in the restaurant, so you gotta go across the road to buy it at 7/11
- JenniferMay 30, 2010Michelin star dim sum? Food is money for value. Not all dim sum live up to reputation. The wait is long long long. Char siu bau and ribs are above average!
- Timmy Ho —December 11, 2012They didn't get a Michelin star for the engrish spelling on their signage!
- Chris HarrisDecember 10, 2009Best bang for your buck Dim Sum in Hong Kong in my opinion. Do try the baked pork buns
