- Renz PeeDecember 6, 2014The food was really good. That lasagne Verde was excellent . The flan di zuca wasn't for me but it tasted good. I totally enjoyed the ambience of the whole place! Would return
- Skip the line at GETE and head here for some truly amazing pancakes. Great outdoor seating and relaxed service - no one is rushing you out so enjoy your french press in peace.
- brigitte gSeptember 16, 2013Great cheese plate. Really accommodating restaurant and kind manager. Always a good experience. Just FYI there are steps to get in so may need help if wheelchair bound or with a stroller.
- Village VoiceNovember 26, 2012Enjoy the UWS people watching along with the bounty of exemplary small pizzas, beet ravioli and buffalo mozzarella salad. Best of NYC critic's choice for best sidewalk cafe!
- Matthew SpectorFebruary 15, 2015Machiavelli's ravioli are amazing - and a don't-miss beet salad is incredible as well. Music on some nights and beautiful artwork.
- Peter IkladiousApril 19, 2015Great for brunch. Outdoor tables are great to watch the pointless queues at GETE! Highlights include the fritatas, crepes and dessert!
- Charles MAugust 9, 2013Loved it! Great ambience and not too busy to where I had to scream to be heard. Good for brunch, I had the L'Americano.
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014Exemplary small pizzas, beet ravioli, and a buffalo mozzarella salad. Read more
- Michael HusseyApril 28, 2012Our favorite brunch place on the UWS. I can recommend any of the pasta dishes, without reservation. The live music (piano, violin) is a plus.
- The food was delicious and the ambiance was exceptional! Loved the classical chamber music provided by the talented Manes students...I intend to return often!
- lauren michaeliMay 27, 2012Wonderful place! Eggplant appetizer very good and large. Open until from 7 am until 2 am, turns into a classical lounge after midnight.
- Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are superb. Brunch is very relaxed, especially divine when the outdoor seating is open.
- Great Italian food, cheese plate and pasta worth a try. Decor is really unique and impressive
- alex demarchaisFebruary 18, 2014This place is amazing...love the murals!!! The pasta is the best in NYC... definitely worth a visit
- Simon WilliamsAugust 4, 2014Machiavelli is a lovely restaurant. Quality food and excellent service. Great Sunday afternoon. Thank you.
- Still great cheese platter. And if you ask they will make hot cider for you
- StaceyJuly 27, 2015well-kept UWS brunch secret, better option than good enough to eat, with no wait.
- Ahmie BecksApril 27, 2014Went in for brunch, left annoyed. Antipasta misto was nothing special, Caesar salad gross. Waitstaff unattentive and could not be bothered to even be pleasant. Bread was the best part. Stay away!
- Steffan BallAugust 24, 2015Rather disappointing. Food was below average, service terrible but the atmosphere was quite nice. Too expensive for the quality and some much better Italian restaurants near by.
- Aina NYCAugust 24, 2015The food is really bad!! Pasta over cooked and nothing special for the price you pay. Go to Cotta that is next door and you will be much much much happier!!!
- Jasmine MoyApril 13, 2014The food here is really not great. Pizza crust thick and totally undercooked, polenta underwhelming. Lots of service issues as well.
- Danielle CassesseApril 11, 2013Waited 20 minutes for a glass if wine and 35 minutes for a cheese plate that never came..so sad good food before..still came back awful service never going back
- Julie StriderApril 13, 2014Inconsistent food & service. Maybe our expectations were high based on the other recos here, but disappointed.
- MegDecember 9, 2011It seems they spent too much money on atmosphere and none on food. All our dishes were bland on bland.
