- Mike WinstonNovember 18, 2014The broth and noodles in my Spicy Miso Ramen were top notch, but I found the piece of char siu pork to be a bit fattier and tougher than I usually like. Read all about it on WinstonWanders below!! Read more
- Caroline DengAugust 2, 2015Get the level 3 spicy Niku moyashi miso ramen! Spicy level isn't that high. Niku has a more sweet taste, and Shalala ramen is saltier.
- Try the tsukemen dipping ramen. The broth is more salty and slighty sour. The better part is you can take it home if you have some left over.
- Derrick YuNovember 22, 2015Miso ramen is a specialty here. The spicy miso is consistently tasty, and every bowl comes with a good number of toppings. The soft-boiled egg is cooked perfectly every time.
- Dan WaylonisAugust 6, 2014Pork tonkatsu was good but needed to be beaten thinner. Dipping sauces were great. Potato salad was great and flavorful. Service was slow and they didn't bring out the miso soup prior.
- Authentic ramen. Try the shalala bowl (spice isn't that spicy.) Sneaky pro-tip: best place in the area for takoyaki!
- Wayne KaoNovember 27, 2013The ramen's all right, but I especially love the other stuff like rice balls and egg over rice.
- Emilio MartínezAugust 8, 2014Good food! There's usually quite a bit of people, but there's plenty of tables in the back. The service felt rushed, even coming from the manager.
- Best ramen joint in Mountain View. Any one of the karages is a great complement to the delicious ramen. Love the shio ramen.
- Jay HawkinsonJuly 24, 2013During weekdays just be there by 11:30 to get a seat. After that it will fill up fast. Worth it tho!
- Neel HajareSeptember 30, 2016Love the spicy miso ramen, and the soft-boiled eggs in particular are perfect!
- Lauren MacJuly 18, 2015Probably the best ramen in MTV. Broth is great, and you can choose your size of bowl!!
- Alexis ReevesAugust 15, 2013The Ramen comes in 3 sizes and large is huge. Love the Level 3 heat! Very good Miso Ramen.
- Kat 🐱March 2, 2016Niku moyashi miso ramen (spicy level 2) has good flavor but I don't like the texture of the noodle :(
- Chris FungFebruary 1, 2015The Shalala miso ramen is very good. The noodles are a little chewy and could be more tender.
- Eddy BAugust 28, 2013Tried the citrus ramen after reading other people's tips. Would say it is interesting but not super amazing
- The perfect combo spicy niku moyashi and black paper karage.
- Owned by Japanese people and serving Japanese people, Shalala has the best Miso Ramen in town.
- Spicy niku moyashi miso ramen is delicious! Get an okra tofu to balance out the heaviness of the ramen.
- Try the Citrus Shoyu Ramen for a lighter alternative to the other broths.
- Evan JohnsonAugust 7, 2014Tonkotsu ramen. The Gyoza is great as a starter. Not much decor, but I suppose that is to be expected.
- JulioAugust 30, 2012Eat slowly if you want to stay more than 10 minutes or so. As soon as you're done a waitress will ask you to please gtfo as other people need a table.
- The best ramen restaurant around the area, highly recommended by all my Japanese classmates
- KarlaJune 19, 2012Try the Niku Moyashi Spicy Miso Ramen - Generous toppings and great broth. Average noodles.
- Obviously the ramen is the main attraction but give the curry a try.
- Kathryn HMarch 23, 2011Get here before noon to beat the lunch crowd (you'll run into lines to get in otherwise).
- John LeFebruary 15, 2011Chasu and Kimchee over rice for $1.50! It's a delicious bargain that you must do!
- The pork cutlet curry is pretty solid if you want a change of pace
- Miso ramen's my recommendation here. Poached egg on rice is pretty tasty too.
