- Daphne GoonSeptember 30, 2017Reservation is a must here otherwise it's fully booked! Tried the tasting menu which has 8 course-4 starters,3mains+dessert. Very filling and great. Exquisite taste. Loved the minke whale and rib eye
- Qian YangApril 17, 2016Next time visit Reykjavik I definitely will come back to this restaurant. Cozy, excellent service and best lobster never had tasted before.
- Vesna Bajramovic-SmithJanuary 15, 2016One of my favorite restaurants! If you are up for a great food and wine experience try the Tasting menu. Minimum 2 ppl per table has to order. It come to $150 per person, but is worth it every penny.
- Shawn HDecember 31, 2018Tasting menu was really amazing. We really loved this place. The goose (pictured) was probably our favorite dish, but we loved everything. Their butter was incredible too.
- Wolfgang LuenenbuergerJuly 12, 2022Fantastic food, modern Nordic style. The eight course through the menu dinner is exciting. For Iceland not too expensive.
- Aivory GawMay 6, 2018Whipped butter with local salts is tasty! The fish and meat gourmet platters are great for sharing. Service is incredibly slow though. Waited an hour and a half to get our food.
- sue qSeptember 15, 2015Great meal. Fish was delicious. Trendy cozy restaurant. The best meal we had in Reykjavik. It is well hidden off the main strip we missed it twice walking by!
- Pertti KorhonenJuly 25, 2017Fantastic shellfish soup. Really nice interior inspired by the brutal but beautiful nature of Iceland. A bit difficult to find, look carefully for the sign on the street - trust Google Maps - it knows
- Colton GrovesMay 27, 2016Really expensive, but worth it when in Reykjavík. Very nice. Get the fish sampler and try all three fish! Plus the garlic potatoes are to die for. Lamb chops were excellent as well.
- Jenny KJune 22, 2015Ask to be seated at the bar, where you can watch each dish being prepared. Fascinating, amazing, delicious!
- super pupJune 6, 2017Gorgeous resto. Inconsistent food execution but the winners (baby lamb, skyr ice cream, king crab) were phenomenal! We went 2x in a week! Avoid lumpy tempura starters and 90's chocolate desserts.
- Ian EverhartSeptember 12, 2016Try the tasting menu (1) if you can afford it, and (2) if you can find the restaurant. Its address is on Lækjargata but the entrance is an alley off Austurstræti.
- This is really good. I got the cod, was a bit salty but I still loved it. And veggies were very delicious, full of flavors and def will come back again. Bread was yummy too
- Mark MunroAugust 31, 2017Meat gourmet is 💯. Execution is impeccable here - bread, butter, tea is all memorable. Vegan peanut steak is fantastic for vegetarians.
- Swen GrahamAugust 28, 2014Dinner alone? No problem, the kitchen provides more than enough visual entertainment and you might just strike up an amazing conversation.
- Jason HirstAugust 27, 2014Fantastic place, staff are brilliant, atmosphere awesome and food incredible!!!! Do ask for more of the black salt, you'll get addicted!
- Locally grown meat, straight from our farmers. The Icelandic Lamb is out of this world, you can taste the blueberries and arctic thyme that they eat during their outdoor life in the wilderness.
- Cathrine JohansenNovember 6, 2016WOW. The food here is to die for! It's expensive but worth every penny. Make sure to have the chocolate special dessert! Very good service also!
- Pares TailorMarch 25, 2017The mix seafood grill is immense! I highly recommend it, my second visit here after 6 moths and it really is my favourite restaurant in Iceland
- Tom ChanOctober 16, 2014The horse tenderloin is delicious! The washrooms are a work of art. Sit at the bar for an entertaining look into the kitchen.
- David SmithSeptember 26, 2015This was the best meal we had in Iceland. The dry aged rib eye was great. They recommended to get it cooked medium, but I would recommend medium rare
- Ruairi BurnsJanuary 5, 2016Tasting menu and wine pairing were out of this world. Pricey but absolutely worth it.
- Wolfgang LuenenbuergerJuly 12, 2022Very good and creative vegetarian food as well. Very flexible re/ diets. Even possible to include a vegetarian into a table-wide menu.
- Raphael BarretoJune 27, 2015The shell soup is amazing. The lamb is greasy, but very good and soft. The seafood looked very well executed. But stick to classic cocktails, their signature selection is not a hit.
- Shawna StrayhornOctober 30, 2015There is strike (since May) impacting the horse meat industry; don't count on being able to try the tenderloin of horse. Sometimes they have it...
- Swen GrahamAugust 28, 2014The bread comes with a very soft butter and volcanic salt. It's best to dip in the better rather than spread and dab the salt. It's like an amazing pretzel.
- Ben EngenOctober 30, 2022Generally regarded as one of the better restaurants in town. We did the tasting menu and it was quite good but I still preferred our meals at Messinn.
- Franziska KuhnOctober 20, 2013Duck salad, grilled salmon (best I've ever had) and vanilla creme brûlée - all to die for. Have to come back here before returning home.
- Erick KjellevoldSeptember 22, 2014Great interior design. The food is fantastic and they have a big focus on good wines that complement the tastes in each different course.
- Stephanie DeDeckerJanuary 2, 2017Great steakhouse and seafood restaurant in Reykjavik. Got the whale, it was delicious
- Jon SangerJanuary 5, 2014Best restaurant we visited. Don't bother with puffin or whale, but try the Guns N Roses cocktail and the Grillmarket Chocolate for dessert.
- Jeff ESeptember 23, 2016the puffin/minke whale sliders are delicious. the dry-aged rib eye will make the regular rib eye taste like paper in comparison.
- Ken YipMay 13, 2015surprisingly the bread and butter were amazing haha, but everything in general was done really well, and the service was excellent too
- Alastair HiltonDecember 28, 2014A superb restaurant. Must be the best in Reykjavik. Treat yourself with a meal here
- Marina ElisaMarch 3, 2016Hesitant whether to get an expensive course at first, but everything was definitely worth its price!! Best service so far, too
- Eden EJune 6, 2017Hard to find. But the underground setting accompanying the algae walls and large room made it peaceful. Pricy- but amazing- food with small portions.
- Bjarni JanussonFebruary 20, 2017I had duck salad and salmon for lunch. The salad was presented as a starter, but should instead be a main course. Other than that the food was okay, the decor nice and service good.
- Every dish here is special in it's taste... We had to come 3 times in order to try everything we wanted.
- Swen GrahamAugust 28, 2014Somewhat hidden off the road, head back through the courtyard for a gem of an Icelandic steakhouse. Be hungry.
- Colm LinehanMarch 12, 2014Tasting menu was very good, apart from a mis-fire on the lamb dish. Steak was gorgeous, duck salad with clementines very nice too.
- Buzz BishopAugust 18, 2012The trio of burgers are great. Puffin, whale and ... A trio of Icelandic treats. Sit by the grill if you can and watch the action.
- Krystallia DimitriadouOctober 29, 2019Countryside menu was exquisite! Worth the taste! A true gem in Reykjavik this place!
- Jessi RichmondMarch 8, 2013They have built their own grill and really know how to cook meat to perfection. I'd recommend anything grilled and the roasted vegetable sides
- kate wangSeptember 18, 2016For being a place titled as it is, they can't seem to cook a piece of meat evenly. Maybe try the seafood instead. Mink Whale was a tasty start though.
- Bo McFarlandOctober 16, 2013The Lamb T bone is one of the finest dishes I have ever had. The deep fried vegetables are also a must have.
- John ReckerDecember 7, 2020Very very good steaks from local farm, great staff. Psssst, fine dining only.
- Luke FarlieJanuary 20, 2016I thought this restaurant was brilliant, great atmosphere, great food and great cocktails!
- Randy HaddenMarch 29, 2013Fancy drinks. Great service. Amazing food. Our vegetarian was even satisfied!!
