Simple DiscoveriesAugust 5, 2016Save some time & get your visa online ahead of time ($50). Newer terminal is quite clean & modern & has fast, free wifi. Save some cash and walk to the street to flag a taxi to town for ~7-8000 kyat.

Ian McFarlandJuly 31, 2012You have to bring brand new $100 bills: they won't change ones with signs of wear, or any defacing marks like stamps or pen marks. The vertical wear marks in the photo are probably on the border.

The perfect airport, because it's obviously planned for way more passengers than there are. Short queues. The way to the gates is pretty far, be prepared. Smoking area is at the far end.
Should buy 4G sim,6500mmk get 6.5gb data,internet wifi not popular in Myanmar restaurant,that why u should have 4G sim to search google map,and kill time on the night bus from Yangon to others cities
Duke PHAMJanuary 31, 2015On 29th Jan, 2015, 1 USD = 1025 Kyats. Now, You can buy a SIM card from Telenor counter for 12000 Kyats. It is faster than the Free Wifi of any place i Yangon. Taxi to downtown is 7USD and 6USD back.
Good thing you can find here in new airport is a wonderful ramen at yamakoya..
If you fly domestically, take some time to admire the woodwork: some really beautiful carvings!
Sapasapa ChaiAugust 15, 2018Get MPT SIM card the speed is amazing and I have no problem in Bagan and Yangon on during the nite bus. Take the airport shuttle only cost 500kyats if I didn’t remembered wrongly.

Make sure you grab KFC before entering through security- From airport book grab taxi to Mingalar Bus Station to get nightbus go Bagan (price 6-7000mmk).Road quality fr airport to bus station not good,and traffic jam,should calculator time for it
Just don't bother about Wifi and take a data SIM card from Ooredoo (outside the restricted area). They're the only one to do 4G. Exchanging money by the baggage claim gives you better rate than outside. Bring brand new USD though.

Nora NFebruary 14, 2015There is nothing to do but sit once you enter the gates. I recommend buying your own food ahead of time as the seating is limited in the cafe in the airport.
Free and very good Wi-Fi from Red Link. But will disconnect after 5 or 10 min or so.

EDROctober 21, 2017Ok small airport, with water dispensers at gates. Watch out at arrivals as passport/visa checks might take you more than 1 hour. A taxi ride to downtown will cost u around 8 to 10k MMK ATMs at arrival
Come early as the security checkpoint and luggage drop have limited counters and long queues.
The new terminal is pretty nice. Lots of shopping and food areas.
Wifi hotspot is free for 3 minutes but the connection is weak and speed is...to be honest not useable. Terminal 2 has many restuarants at Departure Hall but even more beyond immigration check point.
thpsychoJanuary 18, 2014Still a small airport nothing much to do after immigration (based on Aug 2013). Go chill out at the crowded cafe and purchase the wifi access. The range is small and don't expect super fast speed.

There are charging stations from Samsung providing tips for micro usb and vanilla usb sockets, inside the waiting area at the gates and before the gates.

They now have an ATM that may work work with MasterCard branded cards. Didn't withdraw as the fee would have been 5000 MMK.
EnvelopsOctober 8, 2013Inter'l terminal is mordern which domestic shabby, free wifi. USD7 for a taxi to downtown area. No USD10 departure tax is charged separately now.
Neat and clean but not that marvelous than NPT international airport.
