- Divya MulanjurDecember 29, 2015It's a long drive to get there but worth it. Dress warm because this is the windiest area in the pacific coast and it gets really cold. There's a half a mile walk from parking, dogs are not allowed.
- K FJuly 23, 2013Well worth the drive out! Spectacular views! Just be mindful of the time of day as they close the steps going down to the light house @ 4:30. rangers do a nice job explaining some interesting facts.Upvoted 1 week ago
- DavidMay 12, 2015Great lookout of the pacific coast, a long drive but well worth it. Possible to see whales and def elephant seals
- cnelson ︻╦╤─November 12, 2019The new accessibility improvements are great. Drive very slowly up to the parking area the road is shared with pedestrians
- Flavius NeagoeAugust 29, 2017Great workout go up & down the 300 stairs a few times. Closes at 4:30pm. Check winds at windyty.com
- Dave SawyerOctober 23, 2016The stairs to the lighthouse close if the winds exceed 40mph, but the walk down / up isn't too bad and a worthwhile effort.
- Adithya DasariDecember 28, 2016It's worth going to the top. Try to experience sunset view. It will be windy moat of the times..do cover your self 🙂
- AndreaAugust 1, 2013Foggiest and windiest place on the West Coast. Lighthouse is closed T/W/Th and the 301 stairs down to it are closed when winds are over 40mph. Lighthouse is .4 miles from parking area.
- Christopher GallagaAugust 2, 2017Open Monday to Friday except when apparently on a whim they close from Tuesday to Thursday. Imho they owe me gas and time at least.
- Jennifer OrrSeptember 14, 2014Get there early (opens 10am) for less crowds and to find a parking spot, and go in Jan or Mar to see whales!
- Robin ZAugust 30, 2015Just over 300 steps down to the lighthouse from the parking lot. Makes for a good workout on the way back!
- Anna JamesMay 14, 2015Learn about the history and function of the lighthouse from a Ranger at the lens room from 2:30 to 4pm.
- Diane RJune 23, 2013Don't forget a wind breaker, the views are incredible! Oh ya, the steps....its a workout.
- Ted sJuly 20, 2014Note the 4:30 closing time! Gates will be locked to get you in (but you're ok getting out).
- Benjamin FresquezMay 10, 2013There's 310 steps. Going down is easy but coming up is a little difficult.
