Small and overall well-organized airport. The places are pleasant and efficient enough. Lots of gourmet restaurants and Lambos on display at the entrance. Gate 12 has a fantastic view of the runway.

There is some food and drink airside, but the La Ghiotta coffee shop before security is far better than the one airside (more choice of pastries and snacks, proper baristas).
Brian T.December 16, 2019The business lounge is pretty nice and HAS ITS OWN DEDICATED FAST TRACK SECURITY CHECKPOINT. I believe you can buy a day pass to access it. On a day when security is delayed, it could be worth it.
There is a good shop of bologna's speciality food at the ground floor (arrival), don't miss the opportunity to bring home ham&cheese from the region!
Scott DuncanApril 26, 2015Don't be alarmed by the tip of no food after check in. There is plenty and the price for a panini is the same as at the Central Station.
Recently renewed, it's one of the most efficient airport in Italy. To get to central station, take the "BLQ" bus outsid the arrival (6 eur...too expensive)
@WineAlchemy1September 26, 2018Don’t forget the pack &go facility near departures where you can check your baggage weight and repack if you need to. Then you know for sure at checking in without risking repacking in a queue

Lots of remodel and renovation going on at the airport - departures check in has been moved from main floor to new downstairs area.
Lovely ham and prosciutto stall in the departure hall on the other side of the duty free shop

It’s cramped and so best to spend as little time as possible. Supermarkets near the airport offer better value and variety of products.
Love the little business lounge: you can check your bags and passport inside it! Btw, when landing @ BLQ no fingers here and you'll wait sooo long for your luggage, everytime!

Bring your very own air conditioning system. The temperature inside the terminal is unbearable! BLQ, please turn on that A/C...passengers need to breath some fresh air!
Taxi to the train station is around 20€. BLQ is 6€ per person. Think of that if you're more than 3 people!
goschkoMay 17, 2013The public bus to the city centre (BLQ line) takes about 20-25 minutes and costs €6 (SIX EURO!!)
If you have just arrived in Bologna I advise you to buy some DEET, the mosquitos here are vicious!

Nadia MNovember 10, 2019Be careful with the luggage deposit service! The automatic payment machine had a problem and some of the staff were indifferent like there was no time pressure for our flight.
- Warning! The new scanners at the security check will automatically charge you if your luggage exceedes the weight of dimensions limits!

Loredana GuzmánJanuary 12, 2015Refund your tax, allow at least 40 minutes. VAT refund on the extreme of 1st F. & show: boarding p. ( Non-European C), passport, tax free forms AND the goods. Then go to the tax rfnd office.
Elena AnisimovaJune 16, 2017The most terrible aurport I've ever been. Had to queue for 30 min cause only one counter for check-in was operating. Then had to queue another line for 30 min for security check.
For your reference: Taxi from airport to hotel at east side of Bologna €15 (on Saturday) From hotel to airport (on Sunday) €20
