If you’re on a Red Line train and you’re transferring to G/Y here, board towards the front if your train is heading to Glenmont. Board towards the back if it’s heading to Shady Grove.Upvoted Mar 6
This station has nice art. More pleasant than concrete walls. Also, be sure to walk further up the platform. If the train isn't long enough, you'll end up running to catch the last, overcrowded car.

Dan MejakMarch 23, 2019New 7000 series trains are announced as such when you board. Trains have multiple dot-matrix and video displays describing stops and destinations. Also good cell service and WiFi available.

On weekends & during rush hour it's usually really crowded. Easy to bump into tourists/lost people, so watch where you're walking! And of course, stand to the right & walk to the left on escalators!

Chambrea WellsMay 24, 2013Will definitely miss a train because some idiot is standing in everyone's way taking a causal stroll and the other idiots are standing on the left side of the escalator inside of the right.
This metro stop is a zoo if there is an event above your head in the Verizon Center.
The "stand on the right" tips would be better communicated if WMATA installed signs in the middle of the escalators. The London Tube does it and it works well.
If you're a local, make sure your card has fare on it during high tourism or event times or else you are going to be waiting in a looooong line behind people who don't know how to use fare machines!
Ewww. I just saw a mouse. You never know what u might see at galleryplace metro station.- On the platform? The less space you leave for people to exit (let's take the width of the doors), the longer it takes for folks to get off, the longer it'll take to get on. Make room, please. Thanks.
"Stand to the right" is the rule on the escalators!- Hell before/after Caps games. Actually, almost always hell. If you're in the area and trying to take Orange/Silver/Blue to VA, better to walk a couple blocks to Metro Center and not have to transfer.
Each game night I lose more of my soul. I just want to get home from work. Is it too much to ask to stand to the right on the escalators?

Lizz C.January 23, 2014If you're transferring to go to Metro Center and you're in good health, just walk there. It takes 5 minutes and allows the rest of us going further on the red line to get on a train during rush hour.
This is where you get off to get to the Verizon center. GO WIZARDS, GO CAPS!!!.....*whispers* .....and go mystics.

If you're transferring to the blue and orange line you should walk to Metro Center!
Hanh NJanuary 13, 2012JB F., kindly shut the f up and get the hell out of the way. Leaving the left side open is common courtesy. The escalator is not a hang out spot.
If you catching the Red Line going to Shady Grove. Move to the middle or front of the platform to ensure you get on the train. Cause it gets crazy in the last 2 cars.
I cannot stress enough for how important it is for people to remember that on the escalators- stand on the right side and WALK on the left side. So other people can get through. PLEASE!

Wandering JuanApril 19, 2012Only place in DC where all traffic lights go red to allow for pedestrian walking.
Be careful on the platforms...folks do not know how to walk or maneuver.
Trust the Yellow Line ghost train. Trains going south to Huntington show up on screen only 2 minutes before arrival.
- This just might be the lowest IQ geographical point in all of DC.
Lots to eat, see & do. A destination in DC.
