- Jack SmithJune 29, 2016September is the quietest • leave coasters to later in the day • eat little & often • visit restaurants at off-peak times • enter long queues with drinks • arrange meeting point • wear comfy shoes
- Jack SmithMarch 14, 2015You're a fool if you turn up on the day and pay the full admission price. Huge discounts if you pre-book online or shop around for money off vouchers / 2 for 1 offers.
- Hamid AzharJuly 30, 2014The Smiler , Th13teen, Rita , Air and Oblivion are the best rides.. don't miss them. It's worth it to buy fast track tickets to avoid the long queues.. 😄
- Amy MellonMay 13, 2016Buy one of the 'digipasses' for your photos. £30 for every single ride photo or £10 per photo - can't go wrong. Straight on your phone and then you can do as you please. Great value
- Abdullah 🍩August 3, 2018Super thrilled theme park, the best I've ever tried so far! Don't miss fastrack to skip long queues
- Callum ThompsonSeptember 14, 2018The Smiler and Wicker Man are great additions, definitely recommend riding these and the classics i.e Oblivion, Nemesis, and Galactica/Air
- Diane RoulloApril 28, 2013The most famous theme park of Britain def blew my mind away! It has rides that will make your heart skip a beat yet will absolutely make you want more. A visit anyone must do when coming to UK! :) x
- Oriol Carbonell LluchMay 14, 2013Incredible park!!! It's worth it, so if you have the opportunity to go there, go!! They've really "Disney-friendly" employees and that's incredible for a park with 2.3M visitors/year. Great rides :O
- Ben JamInnJune 2, 2013Merlin Annual Passes are well worth getting. Pays itself off after a few visits, gives you a discount at pretty much all the shops & restaurants and allows you in the park an hour early!
- Wickerman queue seems to hover around 100 minutes all day - do it at the end of the day as once you're in the queue they won't shut the ride off.
- Plan your visit! Arrive as early as you can and pre book tickets or get a BOGOF / free voucher for entry. Oh and ALWAYS pay for your parking ticket on the way in, massive queues at kicking out time.
- Pete LloydAugust 10, 2022Buy a Kelloggs box before you go and book using the 2 4 1 pass. Under 3s free. Get their ticket at the gate not online if you use the Kelloggs pass. Be mindful kids need to be 0.9m to use most rides
- brilliant theme park, good for all the family! If you visit around 2-3 times a year I recommended buying an Annual Pass, 20% of food, merchandise and more! Also with a Merlin - enter other attractions
- Adrian CundyJune 10, 2014Buy The Smiler fast pass otherwise prepare to queue!. Ask about ride times before buying any of the other passes to save money. We didn't need them today!. :-)
- Metin O.June 30, 2013If you are looking for a fun day out, Alton Towers has got to be one of your top choices. Great rides, excellent gardens and friendly staff. Poorly signposted though!
- Erik ZolcerJune 9, 2017An absolutely wonderful park, set in lush beautiful English countryside, activities for all.
- Ian HudsonMay 26, 2013The all day food wristband isn't worth buying really but the platinum fast track pass is well worth it! We managed to get on everything with the longest wait 10 minits
- Dominic RogersSeptember 25, 2013Probably one of the best parks in the UK. Jewels include the B&M coasters Nemesis (Inverted) and Oblivion (Vertical Drop). Always arrive early as possible and get to the most popular ride first.
- Caolam McParlandOctober 14, 2014Really good theme park! The best coasters in the park were The Smiler and Oblivion IMO. There were lots of other fun coasters as well.
- Kaz DAugust 29, 2013Loads of fun for everyone! Water guns all over so you can soak everyone on the rapids, flume & galleons! Take a change of clothes & shoes - the big dryers help, but don't completely dry you out.
- Unlimited Tea/Coffee or Drinks is worth the money, especially on extended days such as Fireworks or Scarefest.
- Kreative KtAugust 28, 2016I don't like Alton towers. I would say don't take any special needs people due to the house unless you buy some headphones especially designed. 3/10
- Dave JohnsonJuly 23, 2011If you go a lot, buy yourself an annual pass. If bought at the right time of the year, it can last you TWO SEASONS. Pays for itself in 2-3 visits, saves you 20% on merchandise, gifts and food, earns y
- Vicki HughesJune 1, 2013Defo queue for smiler, the best ride I've ever been on. Well worth a four hour queue.
- Denis SoamesSeptember 3, 2014Print off discount codes first and the restaurants become good value. £22 Inc drinks for three at the pasta place. What do you mean... "you don't check foursquare before visiting". LOL
- Amy WilliamsDecember 18, 2014Definitely take a visit to one of the Scarefest events or the fireworks displays if you haven't been before!
- Sean ReganAugust 22, 2017Great all day entertainment and the queues these days are not what they used to be. Still good to get the adrenaline flowing.
- Riding the back row is just as good as riding the front row and you don't have to queue longer for it. TRUST!
- David OxfordAugust 31, 2014Great day out but very expensive if you don't get a deal. Cbeebies land is great for under 7's.
- Leanne CooperJune 29, 2013Best to head for the Smiler first and just wait out the queue. We stupidly did this at the end of the day (5pm) and didn't ride until almost 7pm. Longest queue I've ever experienced at Alton Towers!
- Calum CookeFebruary 18, 2015Great rides, good value for money too if you have a merlin pass. All in all a great day out!
- Nathan HalberstaterOctober 13, 2015What an awesome space and park. Well set out and plenty of green areas and RIDES!!
- Sam GJuly 9, 2013Definitely wait for The Smiler, the queue is awful but it's worth it! Definitely one of my favourites
- Michael BratleyJune 23, 2013Have a go with the water guns at the side of the rapids. So much fun to shoot people in the face. It was the highlight of my day!
- Ste JonesJune 21, 2014Smiler is awesome, don't get hung up on getting in it early, queues much shorter later in the day!
- Yana DomninaJune 17, 2017Almost no quires on weekdays, so we could do Smiler 3-4 times within an hour. Good thing: there are no shops like in Disneyland and co: very nice park around! Bad: only fast food available to eat.
- AmirApril 5, 2015Complete lack of planning , gotta queue anyway , they will tell you if you use the hotel you will have one early hour in the morning , but guess what you will queue till 10 still for the games to open
- make sure you get yourself to a Scarefest event, if only to ride the rollercoasters in the dark!!
- HussainJune 8, 2014There is a halal restaurant , you will find it near to the maxican restaurant , have a go
- Pay for parking on the way in (next to the entrance turnstiles) to avoid the queue at the end of the day.
- Get there early for ERT and ride Rita. The queues are dreadful once the park opens to everyone at 10.00.
- Bob VreesOctober 19, 2013Ik you need an ATM, don't use the one in front of the entrance since it charges £1,75, there are 3 ATM's direct after the turnstiles on the left with NO charges! :)
- LaurenApril 5, 2013So impressed with staff - all so bubbly, friendly and helpful - really makes a difference!
- Phat BuoySeptember 24, 2014Prepare yourself for long queues and rip off food. Bring your own lunch. You'll have plenty of time for a 3 course meal queuing for the smiler on a Saturday.
- Mary-ann AstleOctober 19, 2013If you're visiting Scarefest make sure you ride The Smiler in the dark - simply not to be missed!
- Free wifi across the WHOLE park, courtesy of The Cloud, very impressed.
