- Justin DonneMay 30, 2015This place has history, hundreds of years of it. Whether the crusades tales are true or not, it's so cool to sit in ancient cave pub. The ales are always great, too. It's a touristy place, but great.
- Nikos TaskosNovember 1, 2014Great choice for local ales- stuff is more than eager to explain the different ales and offer shots of each one for you to try. Worth a visit!
- Iván FaríasJuly 23, 2012This pub claims to be the oldest in England. True or not, still a fantastic place to meet with your friends and share a beer. PS: get the fish and chips!
- Andrew SaffreySeptember 10, 2016Pub nestled in the rockface of the cliff below Nottingham Castle. Ignore the tourism hype and enjoy the genuinely good beer, including the eponymous Old Trip.
- Nauris CircenisMarch 13, 2016Feels very authentic. Beers and ales are always great. Food is decent, but one should go here for beers and conversation. Atmosphere is amazing.
- Zoltán GyuráczOctober 4, 2015Great porters and IPAs. Just popped in for a quick beer but the atmosphere caught me immediately. The oldest pub is the oldest pub. ;)
- Fouad HusseiniNovember 28, 2014This is one of the best places I've been to with authentic quality lager. Certainly worth a visit at least once! The atmosphere is amazing and the people are fun
- JonSeptember 24, 2015Wonderful, unique building with a good selection of local beers at good prices. Love it.
- deborah grantDecember 3, 2013Try the ales, all great. Come here each time we are in Nottingham. Never found it too busy & always manage to get our table hidden in the window.
- Jonathan EvansJune 21, 2014It's a lovely building with bags of character but that has translated to quite high beer prices. Definitely worth a visit but you wouldn't stay all night
- JonSeptember 23, 2015Bit of a tourist trap, but understandably so. It's fantastic. Very atmospheric, and good cheap beer
- Serge VdovychenkoJuly 30, 2013Nice pub. You need to remember a number of your table to order food (some of them don't have any). The caves tour in the castle is highly recommended.
- Whit MaullMarch 17, 2015Can't beat the old world charm here. Low ceilings, caves, ghosts, swords and beer.
- Marc PérezApril 15, 2016Pub with a lot of character, really nice people. A few local ales on tab and food is also pretty good!
- Cate TAugust 23, 2014Amazing setting and lots of history. Don't go for nachos - way too small for what they cost! Fish and chips looked great.
- Nihan CosgunOctober 12, 2016Smells history and beer in every corner Grab a beer and enjoy your day in Nottingham
- Would echo other tips. Fab atmosphere and have to say the Pimm's is great whatever the weather! Recommend the haunted snug if main bar areas are busy!
- Very busy tourist attraction, be prepared to wait at the bar. Good beer, try the OldeTrip, & good food.
- Interesting place to show people. Just next to the castle so handy if you are visiting it!
- Simon CheadleMay 10, 2015Great selection of ales. Amazing building and history. Definitely worth a visit
- James HartshornSeptember 6, 2014Get there early for lunch at the weekend to make sure you get a seat.
- One of England's oldest pubs - cut into the cliff wall of Nottingham Castle. And with its own brand ale too.
- Jaco van DiggeleJune 26, 2012You realy want to see the museum room! But don't forget to check the Castle and the caves as well.
- Renan S.January 26, 2015Nice little space! Hard to find a table though. Expensive food but a must go.
- James InghamApril 11, 2011Food here is great! On a sunday, just up the road everyone seems to only sell roast dinners so it a good place to go then!
- Paul WilkinsonMay 3, 2019Look out for the pregnancy chair - legend has it that women sitting on it get pregnant soon after.
- Simon HamerMarch 14, 2012One of the oldest public houses in Britain. Great selection of ales. When I worked in Nottingham centre in the "hobbit building" we regularly held bored meetings in there. We went when we were bored.
- Viktor ErdodiOctober 27, 2014Friendly, helpful staff, good ale. Espresso isn't so good. But who cares about it.
- Lee NixonNovember 27, 2011In the Rock Lounge, visitors can see the Cursed Galleon, a model ship that brings death to anyone who cleans it. The ghost of Roger Mortimer, lover of Queen Isabella, is said to haunt the caves.
- Marco BardusApril 1, 2011I really enjoyed eating there and drinking their beer. Wonderful atmosphere, nice people.
- Now a tourist destination more than a pub, but worth a visit.
- Barry GuettlerMarch 20, 2016No Trip to Nottingham is complete without a pint and a ring toss at the Jerusalem!
