It's a steep (7 miles round trip) hike in occasionally overpowering winds! But worth the views of Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake!

At its deepest, the Great Salt Lake is only about 30 feet deep, averaging about 15 to 16 feet deep overall. Learn more about the Great Salt Lake and its history through this C-SPAN video. Read more

Lots of flies down by the water!! The water's gross, but if you can get over it and wade out deep enough (the water takes a long time to get deep,) you are totally buoyant! Awesome!

So many bugs by the lake - the brown of the ground isn't dirt, it's bugs. Run fast! You can swim though, and there are bison all over the place!

Avoid going to the island during school rush hours. Several schools are located on the road that leads to the island bridge.

The gnats aren't always there. Go in fall or winter. The views are incredible. This place never gets old.

Do not come here intending to float in the lake. It was the most disgusting water I have ever seen. There were people swimming in it, but I wouldn't go past my knees.

Въезд $10, в феврале там делать нечего в пасмурную погоду, в солнечную есть на что посмотреть: бизоны, антилопы, зайцы, пейзажи в солнечную погоду наверно красивы, мы не видели так как был туман.
