- Avoid taxis right outside and taxis being offered inside AT ALL COSTS! Call an official company, e.g. +3612222222, +3612111111, +3615555555, etc. Check the web, western station should be ~2KHUF MAX!
- Majed AlashariMarch 3, 2019Budapest train station for the north. From here you can take trains to Vienna, Munich, Prague and other European cities. It is old station with 9 platforms and big screen that display destination.
- Kemal DanismanOctober 20, 2013As someone already has said, Mos Eisley! The ticket office for international trains is by platform 6, take a waiting ticket from the machines on the walls, but get the right ticket!
- Sam HDecember 21, 2015Open air space so can be cold waiting for trains. If buying an international ticket on premise allow 30-40m. Can be very busy and you need to get a ticket to wait in line (like at a deli).
- Veljanova🦊July 4, 2016All international tickets (To Prague, Munich, Slovakia and so on) work within a month from the date of purchase. Turns are not small therefore it is better to buy tickets in advance.
- Alexander MyskinSeptember 21, 2014Got much better during last 5 years. Now has free WiFi, international ticket office with an e-line, some ticket machines for local trains.
- Do not use the official money-changer stands inside the station! Go outside and you will find places with a much better changing rates than inside!!

- One of the 4 main train stations. International connections to Austria and towards south. Temporarily trains to CZ and SK depart from Nyugati palyaudvar.
- NEVER exhchange money at the exchange offices in the station. They change at a very low rate. Go and find one in the city.

- buy your international ticket at the wasteels office at platform 8. no waiting line and the price is the same as at the international ticket office
- Whereas the MÁV still issues handwritten international tickets, you have to reserve 30-45 min. for this during the rush days.

- s@mSeptember 12, 2013Lockers for luggage r available downstairs, diagonal from the massive ticket windows. Although there's nothing 2C in the 'hood around the station (as of Sep 2013), don't plan 2 spend too hours here.

- Catch the red metro to deák tér (3rd stop) and there ask for Kazicnzy street, which is full of pubs&clubs!
