Stacey LeeAugust 21, 2015If u have time to enjoy around penang by bus, try public bus :) Very cheap and cooling :) airport taxi is kind of leap off. You can use Uber too at reasonable fare :)

Tawseef KhanJanuary 5, 2018May not look very sophisticated from outside but inside the airport you’ll find some shops, restaurants, Grab and taxi counters, etc. Taking grab to George Town is the cheapest option.

Victor IvanovJanuary 20, 2018Uber/Grab trip to old town will be around $4-$5, close to our half an hour. You can go by bus, that will be close to 1,5h. The bus driver has no change.
Early mornings usually have large influx of passengers.....so make sure you’re there early and don’t take it for granted that not many will travel early in the morning 😉

I was here about 5years ago. But today i'm here. I'm shocked with the improvement of the airport. Free strong connected wifi, clean washrooms, nice environment. Good work malaysian airport management!
The sim resellers before immigration give you a large selection of carriers, although outside in arrivals you can also get a hotlink sim

Sensible parking rate. Sometimes congested so be early. Nice nasi kandar restaurant here. Dunkin donuts also can't be missed

Easy to accessible from Georgetown city with RapidPenang bus. Always allocate at least 40 mins travel journey to/from airport as Penang traffic is disgusting. Fare would be rm2.7 per way.
One of the best airport in Malaysia after the major renovation. Now with a few good cafes and shops to kill time before boarding your flights. Wifi is great at the wifi lounge at the departure hall.
Ride hailing instead of car rental, to get around in Penang. For family of 4 + luggage, Hertz charged USD365 (plus insurance) for 72hrs. The highest Grab fee we paid during our trip was USD7!
I just love this airport... looks so like in a different country

Decent supply of cars during daytime. Price range fr MYR 18-70 (30%-50% surcharge fr midnight to 6am). 2%-5% fee if u wish to pay by credit card
There are 2 surau ( praying room ) - one located in the arrival/departure hall...the other one is near the elavator.
Small,looks quite rundown some area.Gate & Passengers capacity issue.Expansion needed!Hope more service/premium services is added for being an International airport in the future!

Nice to see more shops opening - tanahmera spa products in airside area. Dessert shop opened in the old WH Smith area right before security check entrance to domestic pier- There are only dunkin donuts, starbucks and oriental cafe within the departure/arrival hall. You might want to eat first before going in as there are more choices MCD, secret recipe, KFC etc..

Most illogical interior design. Knowing that most of the time we can track down a toilet in Malaysia just by its stench, placing it INFRONT of arrival gate is just dumb and torturous. #penangairport

Kagum ah. Siap ada Internet Lounge where you can surf the net on free wifi and at the same time charge your phone! How cool is that?
Thank you for the charging station. Unfortunately not all the power sockets can be used. Most of it are spoilt. Please look into it.
If you wish to rent a car, do yourself a favour and skip Europcar. Waited for more than an hour to get a car even though i have pre booked it.

Check in/baggage drop counter and boarding gate seems so faraway when you are super late! Have to run for your life.. Please be early at all times to avoid Qs~
