Best of all the main dishes is the grilled rainbow trout. The whole fish arrives grilled beautifully, butterflied and filleted, but with the head left on, so you can fork out the tiny cheeks. Read more
In the shadow of the High Line is this perpetually packed outdoor beer garden, where snagging a piece of a picnic bench can prove difficult in the warmer months. Read more

Always, no matter what, too crowded. And they take the whole German beer garden theme seriously because they have no good American beer, and everyone knows American beer is best these days.
Although the Biergarten is open year-round, we love it best for summer drinking. With communal seating, ping pong tables, unique beers on draft and pretzels for noshing, it's a fun al fresco hangout.
The room in the back is great if you're looking for something a bit more quiet and tucked away. Get tickets for beer & food at the entrance, or just go straight to the bar at the right for cocktails
Beer is always amazing! Gets crowded, but can usually swoop up a seat for you & your crew within minutes. Fully enclosed with heat lamps (that work) all winter. Oh, and there's Ping pong, nuff said.
Incredibly crowded on summer evenings and weekends, but it can be nice on a weekday. The highline above acts like an echo chamber and it gets super noisy. And what's up with the tickets?
Line up to buy tickets which you have to use at the beer and food bars. Then cash them in for large, salty and soft pretzels with spicy or wholegrain sweet mustard. For non-beer drinks, 1 cocktail bar
Fun day-drinking spot! You have to purchase tokens at the door to redeem drinks. For a fun Instagrammable picture, try Das Boot - the beer comes in a glass boot.
Cons: Hard to get seating, Im almost always standing Pros: Drink token system is sometimes irritating, but its efficient, and the heating os great, can be outside even on a cold night
Decent selection of German beers. Nice and loud like a proper Biergarten. Pretzels and sausages are also fantastic. Great place for happy hour but get there early! Young crowd.
Bar with great atmosphere. Good for having great beers, flirting, playing ping pong. You name it. At the end I hit the Standard Grill for some good oysters
Great location, right underneath the highline. It pays homage to The roots with the wait staffdressed up & the German named cocktails & beers. Food is standard. Sadly The crowd has become douchey
Such a great contradiction to the pretentiousness of The Standard Hotel. Such a great outside area for young people who just want to enjoy a good beer. I would absolutely go back.
You have to buy tickets for each beer at the entrance. Tickets cost 8 bucks which is reasonable. Nice atmosphere for hanging with friends. But the pretzels are also a ticket (ie 8 bucks!) Ridiculous.
Such a fun atmosphere. Only serve beer, so make sure that's okay with everyone you're with. A great place for a first date, laid back and fun, kind of like a grown up, classier frat party.
One study suggests that drinking beer might improve the immune system. A study using monkeys (you may now imagine a tanked chimp) found that one or two drinks could help fight infection. Read more
If you can make it there early on a Summer Friday you'll appreciate the ping pong tables while balancing a stein and a fistful of drink tickets. — Ben T., Creative

The sparkling water is 4$ for a small glass of dispenser carbonated tap water, strong taste of chloride. Drink beer instead, probably brewed according to german purity standards :)

The Standard Biergarten serves traditional German fare under the canopy of The High Line – open air in the summer, glass enclosed in the winter. When in Los Angeles, check out the sister Biergarten on The Rooftop of The Standard, Downtown LA.
