- Yan-Yew TanAugust 12, 2016Known for the famous Penang Rd Teochew chendol, sit inside Joo Hooi cafe and try the delectable Assam Laksa, as good as the the Air Itam Assam Laksa.
- EddMay 20, 2016Come now, kids. Stop squabbling over which cendol shop is more famous/better in taste. If u could tell the subtle difference, if any at all, let us all hail you, Honorary Cendol Connoisseur, OBE.
- •• i v y •September 2, 2015Good Assam Laksa and Cendol here👍👍 Cendol can be ordered in from the stall outside. Just pay a minimal surcharge and u can enjoy it sitting down.
- manu prasadOctober 31, 2014Penang Laksa and Penang Road famous Cendol. The service is fast and efficient. Need to have quick reflexes to get a table!
- BoonJuly 22, 2013Char Kway Teow is much tastier than the famous Sister's or Lorong Selamat one. You can taste the wok hei in the noodles. Also, good consistency in quality even during peak hours.
- Nancie MJuly 30, 2014The char keoy teow with duck egg was delicious, and there were lots of prawns. Price of the water was outrageous at 1.7MYR. I enjoyed the cendol, too.
- Adrian ChanApril 3, 2012The char kway teow have dropped standard tremendously. No longer one of the best in Penang. The chendol outside is still the most popular in Penang Street.
- BadderflyySeptember 2, 2014You've not been to Penang if you haven't tried the char koay teow here! The best I've ever had👍

- Rebekkah PauletteJuly 29, 2012Char Kuey Teow, Assam Laksa, Cendol in the side street... This place has it all! And they're all in small portions so feel free to try them all.
- Steron.sDecember 7, 2015Beware of which stall of cendol you want. Old aunt will get you from orange instead of blue (famous) one. She cheated me coz she collect $3 instead of 2.40 + 50sen surcharge. But i want a blue...
- K BDecember 12, 2022Get all the classics here - laksa, char Kwan teow, lot bak, cendol. A bit touristy
- ShermalAugust 31, 2014Has the best Oh Chien in Penang hands down. Fried by a heart warming elderly couple.
- YinYinNovember 17, 2013Not sure y they wanna charge u extra 50cents for chendol when u bring in to shop. Char kuey teow stall needs u to Q for urself when is crowded:)
- Sherly LsFebruary 2, 2014Char keoy teaw and asam laksa very nice. And the famous cendol just outside this cafe.
- With the management changes in early 2016, this place has lost its charm. Go down the road for the asam laksa. Original kuey teow requires you to queue. #lame so I'd give this place a skip
- Wen YiOctober 13, 2015Seriously overrated. Tasteless prawn mee, laksa,lo bak, char kuey teow and cendol. The shop is dark and lack of space. Aunty who take order for drink is angry because you only order water.
- Julian LimAugust 5, 2018Pie tee here is disappointing by Singapore standards. Cheap though. RM5 for 5 in 2018.
- Valentino ChooDecember 30, 2012Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul & Ais Kacang. Long queue but fast moving. Price as of Dec '12, Standing = RM2.00; Take Away = RM2.30; Eat In = RM2.50.

- Carina ShiaNovember 9, 2015Assam Laksa is tasteless compared with those days. Prawn mee is lousy. Char Koey Teow still the best.

- Hitomi NgMay 26, 2013Char kuey teow was less spicy than I like, not enough lap cheong, can't custom order. Mai hiam beh Pai la.
- Winnie LowDecember 12, 2015Will charge 50sen if you eat the cendol inside. Toilet need to pay 20sen. Can't wash hands. They ask us go outside wash by using the dirty water in the tub. 😤😤😤
