Welcome to the oldest wooden castle in Japan. They have complimentary English tour guides as all of the exhibits are in Japanese. Watch your step and head as you climb the excessively steep stairs!

At one of the entries there’s a small visitors centre where you’ll find retired locals that give tours for free (in multiple languages). They are lovely, adorable and totally worth it!

I don’t know why but this castle has something special. Maybe it’s beacuse it’s made of wood or because it’s smaller than Osaka’s but more intimate or because it’s one of the oldest? Best at sunset

Beautiful little castle, worth visiting. If you don’t want to wait 70min before you can enter the 60min tour through the castle, just enjoy the outside areas!

Don't do the whole inside of the castle. The 4th & 5th floor are not really special and the waiting lines are likely to be very long

You have to take your shoes off in the castle, and there's a lot of steep stairs, but inside is very cool.

松本では著名な観光スポットの一つ。永正元年 (1504年) 小笠原氏の一族島立貞永が築城、深志城と称した後、松本城と改称。天正18年 (1590年) 入城した石川数正が現存の天守閣を含む城を造り、その子康長がさらに整備して完成し、現在に至る。桃山時代末期〜江戸時代初期に建造された天守は国宝に指定され (日本最古の木造)、城跡は国の史跡に指定されている。

斜め45°から撮った時の写真が最強にカッコいい城。過去の名前は深志城といい、武田信玄が上杉謙信と川中島で合戦する前に駐屯している。月見櫓が現存するお城は少ないので、大変貴重。

国宝・松本城。現存する唯一の漆黒の天守。複合式天守として大天守/乾小天守に辰巳附檜/月見檜のまとまりは松本城独特のもの。

Le sombre château de Matsumoto est l'un des plus impressionnants et photogéniques du pays. Il s'agit également de l'un des seuls châteaux en bois originaux (qui ne soit pas une reproduction).

Es un sitio que merece la pena ver. Es un castillo japonés en perfecto estado y que se puede visitar por dentro. La entrada cuesta 610¥.

耐震性の問題で、乾小天守には入場（入城）見学ができなくなっています。大手口（入城口）から天守（急な階段とか）～辰巳附櫓～月見櫓へは入城できます。

天守閣を見学することができます。戦国時代から残る天守の中は銃や大砲が展示されて博物館みたいで、景色以外にも沢山楽しめます。1,2階は石垣の形に合わせて辺が弓形になっているそうです。

以前は12/29〜1/3が休みでしたが2019年1月現在は休みは12/29～12/31のみとなっています。観覧料は大人610円、小中学生300円。公開時間は午前8時半から午後5時ですが、入城は午後4時半までです。

現存天守で有名なので、もっと盛大に遺構が残ってるかと思いきや…案外こじんまりしてるんですね。天守さえ空いていればそこまで時間のかかるスポットでもないと思います。

天守閣4階から5階に昇る階段は、勾配が61度です。かなり急ですので、両手に荷物を持っていると昇れません。

仕事が終わった後に周辺を少しだけジョギングしました。大河があるだけに松本城を見ると石川数正を思います。数正は家康の重臣でしたが、出奔し豊臣秀吉配下になりました。後に和正は松本城に入っています
