2005年の愛知万博期間中は「万博八草駅」に改称されていて、JR中央線・名古屋駅から当駅まで直通電車が運転されていた。岡崎方の複線用地内に直通電車の折り返し用の電留線が万博期間中当時のまま残されている。

お手洗いはリニモの構内と駅前ロータリー横です。愛知環状鉄道構内にはありません。

愛環とリニモが乗り入れてます。愛環が16分に1本というダイヤなので、少し乗換しづらい印象。駅舎自体は綺麗な方だと思います。予約制の東京行き夜行バスもここから出てます。
