    寛永19年(1642)にこの地に創建した三十三間堂の守護神として祀られた稲荷大明神が起源、三十三間堂には矢場、的場が置かれ弓術の競技や稽古が行われた。 「矢先」の名は的場に隣接していたことにちなむとされています。
