- John ReadSeptember 7, 2014Consistent quality, good service. Great range of well kept beer with lots of guest Ales. Food really good and never had to wait long for it. Happy to have it as my local.
- The food is excellent. Grab soup or a cheeseboard if you're a bit peckish. Always have a couple of interesting real ciders on too.
- Monstery MonsterJanuary 27, 2014Tonight on the menu, confit pork shin, it was on the bone when it arrived. I pulled the bone straight out as it was so tender! Delicious.
- Great quality food, served quickly, menu changes every day. Many options for vegetarians. The desserts are quite nice!
- Great food and even better beer. Have a beer tasting platter to sample even more
- You won't get chips here, just great home-cooked grub: roast meals, fish pie, lasagne, vegetarian, amazing desserts. And not forgetting superb range of real ales and whiskies.
- The Victoria Cheeseboard is great: e.g. Sometset Brie, Cropwell Bishop Stilton, West Country Cheddar, Hereford Hop with water biscuits, walnut bread & chutney.
- Jimmy RiceFebruary 29, 2012Wicked selection of beers, great food although a little over priced and the braised beef was lacking extra gravy.
- The landlord (Neil I think) is one of the most miserable, aloof, self important idiots I've ever come across. Hence why I've not been there for years and now we go to The Crown.
- CAMRA members get a discount on traditional beers & ciders. Available Sunday to Thursday.
- Not advertised but they do take CAMRA Weatherspoon vouchers on any Castle Rock beer.
- Over-rated. Poor service. Noisy. Pleasant garden now completely covered with marquee tents.
