- Eat Manchu Wok. Try the famous Orange Chicken, Honey Garlic Chicken, General Tso's, Wanton Noodles, Beef and Broccoli, Mixed Veggies, Sweet and Sour Pork, with your choice of white rice and more!
- Bob CMay 5, 2013Beautiful terminal, much nicer than the afghan airport I know. The one bathroom sometimes has paper, and most of the stalls have doors! America! What a country!
- BasFebruary 10, 2017If you can avoid departing out of terminal A, I strongly suggest it. Security lines can bottleneck which renders TSA precheck pass useless. Not many food options. You'll settle for Earl of Sandwich
- Dyanna CApril 4, 2012Everyone's tips are pretty spot on. Avoid the bathrooms and food. Take care of all those needs before hitting this terminal. And be prepared to have shweaty balls. So hot!!!
- Jake RedmanSeptember 11, 2015Go straight past the low-carb protein bars at Market Fresh and you'll find what you REALLY want near gate A17. #ben&jerrys
- Given its condition, it might not be a bad idea to post the weather conditions INSIDE terminal A as well.
- I KOctober 5, 2013Eating healthy in Terminal A - there's nothing past the securuty check, so yiur best option is Qdoba at the small food court. Get the chicken salad in a bowl. Skip the cheese. Dream of better meals.
- Gustavo VillarrealOctober 1, 2013You've made it through the customer-service oriented security at Terminal A and are now preparing to board a tiny plane to a 2nd tier destination. Congrats on the awesome day you're having!
- Amy RaymondMay 8, 2013If you are renting a car at Enterprise use the bathroom by them. Extra large stalls with chair in them for you to roll your luggage in and set your purse or extra bag on the chair. Great find!
- Matt McGinleyMay 19, 2013Not a great terminal - but on the bright side, you may get to see some wildlife. Occasional pigeons, wild dogs, and gazelle are known to pass through terminal A.
- George O'NeillFebruary 26, 2012Air Train rocks! Very easy to go between terminals, and to get to rental cars at stop P3 and local hotel shuttle buses at stop P4.
- NickJune 25, 2012Whoever said this was like a Soviet era building wasn't far off. But Domodedovo in Moscow is actually pretty damned nice... Also eat before you come through. Especially after an international flight.
- PeteAugust 24, 2013If you're connecting and land in one of the other terminals - stay there as long as possible before coming to A. Trust me...
- Will MatthewsMarch 3, 2017Compared to terminal c, I feel like I'm in a slave boat. Place is packed and small. Terminal c was some much better.
- Eddie PApril 26, 2018Right now, it's like a sauna in here ~ in an un-air-conditioned DMV kinda way (NOT in a luxury hotel spa way).
- Thomas BlandJanuary 7, 2013Definitely eat before going through security for gates A30 - A39. Except for 1 location with magazines, candy, and gum, everything was shut down by 7 pm. Also, why not have TVs all around?
- Hey, it’s an airport terminal. It’s got everything you need. The United Club is down the hallway as if you were leaving the airport but before you pass the point of no return!
- Fun Fact: In many languages, "Newark Liberty Airport Terminal A" translates to "purgatory"
- I think the pigeons are the only ones who fly out of here on time
- Tom HalleranMarch 28, 2016I realize construction, but this is terrible. Not enough seats, and while there are a few food places, there are no tables but Earl of Sandwich. Once you're through security, it is a crummy wait.
- Before visiting terminal a again make sure everything you bring with you (phone, laptop, ereader, hair) is charged. 4 outlets for every 50 passengers.
- Usually no TSA-Pre at this terminal so be ready for long lines and lots of security theater.
- Daniel P.May 6, 2017Terminal A sucks. Wi-Fi options: nonfunctioning Boingo Hotspot. Also hope you don't have Verizon, because it is a total dead zone for data (in gates 30-39 area at least).
- SheenaDecember 24, 2017No water fountains! A guy who worked there ended up filling my water bottle from the janitor's sink 😳 drank it and haven't died though. Otherwise, food options limited at end of terminal
- James WiederMay 13, 2011As always, leave your drinks outside of security. It's a gimmick, the same drinks they make u leave, they sell by gate. Come early, no lines. Happy Trails.
- William CooperApril 23, 2013Hey everyone there is no liquids over 3.4oz allowed through security. It's been this way for years so plz check in your shampoos, lotions, hair sprays etc.
- Mark EastwoodJune 5, 2012Philips seafood looks good, can't say yet if it compares favorably to Maryland... They have a Ruby Tuesday near gate 35, havent tried it'
- Marshall KearneyApril 25, 2013Probably a great terminal when it was built. The world has changed and Terminal A has not changed with it. The place is cramped, food/drink selection is horrible. Hope for an on-time departure.
- Nauman NoorMarch 5, 2019Makeshift restrooms post security. TSA wait times can be easily over an hour in the mornings. Be prepared to repel people jumping the lines.
- Azeem KhanNovember 4, 2013Catch a super early flight or come early to avoid crazy security lines ESP on a Monday. When I come at 4:30 am I get trough in 15 mins, at 5:20 almost took 40 min. His was at gate 10-18
- There's coffee in middle of the terminal and god options prior to getting into the gate area. As always the admiral club is there for experienced travelers.
- Jasmine 💫December 21, 2018My least favorite terminal... Especially TSA forcing you to dump all coats, bags and shoes directly onto the belt. Gross 🥵
- Sandra RDecember 17, 2016Plan ahead and eat it drink at the food court prior to the security checkpoint
- Daniel YoungNovember 8, 2015It's an airport, built in the days of Austin Powers, that was retrofitted for a scene in Homeland. Just damn terrible. My tip: drive.
- Debanjana ChatterjeeDecember 13, 2018The worst terminal of Newark and probably any other airport in US. Impossibly crowded and very very limited food option.
- there hasn't been an employee at the register when you first enter the terminal in the last few months-it's a pain to have to go into the bar and find someone to ring you up 😠
- Lou CiriglianoOctober 1, 2012Boars Head deli is a perfect way to grab a decent bite before your flight.
- Tim RossJune 3, 2011pretty crappy terminal. the best thing in it is the ruby tuesdays. Go to the bar and get a drink. Also, they have a full body scanner here now but only screen random individuals.
- John KirkseyNovember 29, 2011The best coffee in the entire airport is at Famiglia Pizza in the B term food court. Illy!
- Scott FisherFebruary 4, 2015For food past security, you have Auntie Annie's, Earl of Sandwich, and a coffee shop...
- Andrew RomanJuly 21, 2012If not for the lack of food/retail, the obnoxious private security, the even more obnoxious TSA security lines, the heat, the overcrowding, and the jumble of airlines ... this terminal would be great
- Edward AJuly 27, 2017Small congested area. United Club is ok not much food choices but has a bar!🍺🍸🍷🍾
- Sonja O'BeeApril 1, 2012If you land in Terminal C and have a connection in Terminal A, make sure to wine and dine in TC. There is nothing in TA.
- Joyce TamMay 7, 2013Newark Terminal A is very desserted. More so at the boarding gate! Eat before you enter screening. There are only 4 stores in total.
- Thas SethJuly 9, 2014Make sure you head to Gate C71 if you are going to terminal A or B. Eat first in Terminal C. You are limited once you are in A.
