Dave SilverstoneJanuary 28, 2012The Great New York State Fair is the oldest state fair in the country, dating to 1841! Though they've seen better days, some of the depression-era, WPA buildings have wonderful detail and character.
Kathleen VargasAugust 28, 201630$ for the wristband gives you unlimited use of all the rides and all of the goodness of fried food is what is best here. Just don't get the lemonade from the lobster roll. Very disgusting.
Bev BaumanAugust 25, 2013Try the milkshakes at Speaches, get a $.25 glass of milk and then some great deserts at the dairy center, check out the awesome train exhibit in the home arts building!- Don't miss out on the Butter Sculpture in the Dairy Building, & the sand sculpture in the Center of Progress. They're definitely a must see.
Everyone should go to the state fair atleast once in their lives. Its so much fun and so many things to do. I go every year ever since my parents took me as a child.
It's always a great time! If you don't enjoy it, that's your problem. People make their own fun. Love to people watch.

The mac and cheese truck by the midway, may be the site of the best state fair food purchase I have ever made.
Visit the dairy building for delicious treats, including strawberry shortcake, and the butter sculpture.
Annual fair full of local festivities, food, and lots of fun for all ages!

Awesome free petting zoo in the back left corner near the grandstand.
Sun screen! Great free crafts in 4H building for kids! You can hold baby chicks too!
Bigger than the altamont fair. The only thing is you have to pay to get on the rides at the state fair. The state fair is cheaper to get in though

Go to the Horticulture Building and get a Maple Syrup Snow Cone...sounds strange but its delicious
Come visit me at p-z-o's by the carriage musuem for the best sausage roll in town!

The shuttle from the orange parking lot takes a half hour from lot to fair. It was faster to walk!
