Mikkeller is one of the best bars you'll ever go to. Tip your waitress and be chill to your bouncer. You're lucky to experience ze Mikkeller essperience.✨
The vast high-quality beer selection is the main draw, but you're definitely not gonna want to miss that insane Pastrami Reuben Sandwich. It's incredible. Read all about it on WinstonWanders below! Read more
Mikkeller Bar has its hometown in Copenhagen, Denmark and bars in for example Stockholm, Berlin, Tokyo and Bangkok. Here's what the first bar in Copenhagen looks like. Go there when you are done here.
Really wonderful gastropub, huge beer selection and great menu. Original location is in Denmark, they opened this one in SF, and they just opened a new one in NYC.
Awesome beer selection and delicious food choices. It gets pretty crowded and if you get seated at the long high top like I did, it’s a little claustrophobic. Would’ve stayed longer if I had more room
A gem in this up and coming part of the city. Sketchy walk but once you enter Mikkeller, it's like you've been transported to another are. Beautiful, great beer and good food.
This is a fun bar in the tenderloin. It's a brewery/beer garden in one. It has 2 floors. Great local beers and at least 10 of their own. Fun bar food. Great prices and staff. Be weary of the bums!
Great beer menu. The place is often crowded (which is a good sign) and the food selection matches perfectly with the beer variety. Recommended bar for after work event with friends and / or colleagues
It always feels a bit sketchy outside, but you will forget all about it once you are drinking a delicious draft beer. Plenty of sour beers on tap here!
An all time fave. The beer selection is next level, and the bar staff have the knowledge. Depending on what time you visit, check out the secret sours bar downstairs
A daily list! Check the ABVs - could blow your socks off. An extensive list of beers, although some were a bit ropey. Not a bad evening to be had - not that you’ll remember it, save for the hangover.
HUGE Selection of beer on tap and very knowledgeable bartenders, but If they have the Gravenstein apple cider on tap you should skip the beer altogether.
Tenderloin pale ale (on tap) hit the spot. Definitely hoppy, but still drinkable and somewhat crisp. Bar has a cool, trendy, pretty down to earth vibe. Reminds me of a high end VT bar with good beer
Obviously a great selection of beer, they also have wine and cider. Food selection is good, mostly meat options but all the sausages are served with a delicious side salad.
Some of the best mouth-watering french fries in the city can be found in this beer hall in downtown SF. Their secret? Double fried in rice bran oil for crispiness all the way to the core. Read more
Nice beer selection treated with great care (always fresh and at proper temperature). Can get noisy and scene-y. Try the bar (the bartenders are great) or better yet head downstairs to the sour room.
Tons of excellent and unique beers served on tap and organized by the temperature they are served at. The fries were ok but the hot dog planter is a great choice for sharing with large groups.
No need to try tens of bars in SF to find out this one's the best of them all, at least if you're into craft beer (not crap beer). 40+ rotating taps of some of the world's finest breweries.
A bar hidden near the chaos of the homeless/cracked out on market street, this place has a fantastic selection of craft beers and good eats. Secret cider bar in the basement.
Stop by this gleaming palace of excellent beer, (Tenderloin Wit, Pale and IPA are a few of its offerings) after work tonight. Sample the goods in the semisecret sours-only room downstairs if you can. Read more
Loved the Half Smoke sausage along with the Craftsman 1903 Lager (flavorful + easy to drink). Pro tip: let your inner glutton fly & order the Cookies & Creme dessert even though you're already full.
Great selection of beers and very knowledgeable staff. Make sure to ask for recommendations and watch out for the quad IPA - it will melt your tongue and brain!
It might be in a bad neighborhood next to nice hotels and Union Square nearby but the beer selection and curation is excellent. Mikkeller on draft is pricey but local craft beer is average prices.
If you like good beer, go here. You'll find a ton of stuff you can't anywhere else. Also, see if you can find the secret bar here as well for some more isolated drinking.
The vibe might make one think that this can’t possibly provide the benefits of a neighborhood bar, but the amazing bar staff make you feel like family.
Damn straight, they know their beers. They also get all nerdy with the temperatures to chill the beers to with 5deg Celsius brackets. Love love love it
If the main room is too crowded/loud/pretentious, head down the stairs and make a u-turn to the left to find the tasting room devoted to sours. Much quieter, and you can still get food!
