- Gahlord DewaldJanuary 13, 2013Here's what you do: get an AirTran card before you go through the turnstile ($5 when I left this tip). Then _on the other side_ of of the turnstile get a regular metro card for use in the city.
- There are two separate gates. One is airtrain only and one is both subway and airtrain. It will charge both fares. Be aware.

- Easiest way to jfk is the A train to Howard Beach skytrain. Never worry about traffic through the tunnels.
