Awesome street. You have to do this if you have never been to Tokyo before. Crapes, fries, and other tasty items. So many shopping stores. High fashion to cosplay to hipsters. It has everything,

Must be if you're traveling with a teenager. Filled with clothes, accessories they need. Expect to see a lot of young Japanese and a dozen of tourists. A bit too crowded just for pics.

Market-like street steps from JR Harajuku. Great shops and snacks for decent prices. Daiso is a MUST

Small, busy, plenty of shops. Takeshita-dori is like a young concentrated Tokyo. Steps away from the JR Harajuku station, it's packed and trendy. If you want to see cosplayers, go to Ikebukero 👍🏻

A hit with teenagers and young adults. Get your dose of one-of-a-kind hipster fashion if you've never been here before. Otherwise its just an overcrowded street that you can avoid.

Spent leftover yen here. Wide choices of clothes, shoes, bags. Try the 250¥ Croquant choux zakuzaku puff, so delicious.

Gotta visit this street at least once. Try the ZakuZaku Croquant Chou. You can't miss it the smell just draws you in. The cotton candy store is very unimpressive.

Love the Colours along this street. Heaps of food and shopping. Easily able to spend half a day here. Just across the road from Meiji Shrine

Very busy on a Sunday! It'll take you a while just walking down the street because it's so crowded. Great place for buying crepes.

Open all year round, even on new year. It's probably the day when it's the most crowded. Visit after Hatsumode at Meiji Jingu

Insane on Sundays. If you want to actually shop, avoid this time or get swept down the streets with the crowd. High end and famous boutiques are found across the road from the end of the street.

No cool dude would seriously hang out/ shop here. It's Cat Street and the surrounding backstreets way down Takeshita and over the main road (Meiji Dori) under the unmistakable Harajuku arch you want.

The stores are not cool for western fashion but here is where local urban tribes buy their clothes. Check this guide http://tokyoamazing.blogspot.jp/2014/07/urban-tribes.html

Small and absolutely crowded shopping street. Not really worth the visit imho. If you're on a tight schedule, you might want to skip it. Try the sweet neighborhood around omate-sando station instead!
