Best and cheapest way to go in center of Riga it's buy bus ticket for cash in Narvesen store near bus station or in airport near B terminal. Ticket calls E-talon. So, 1 e-talon to go in one way. :)
Uber is called Taxify and does the same. Get 7€ with this invite code https://invite.taxify.eu/55VVQ which is about the price for 1 ride to city center.
Your gonna love it here! Taxi to old town for €15 with Baltic Cabs. Try to speak some Latvian, even just “paldies” (thank you) & “lūdzu” (please / welcome)
Quick check out. Don’t take a taxi. It’s Very close to bus #22 who’ll take you to the middle of the city in 20-30 min. €2 only. Just walk right after the car park. A nice and cleanairport!
When arriving to Riga - DO NOT GO for official airporttaxi - RED cabs, or the like. They will rob you blind with their "official" tariffs. Download Bolt or Yandex taxi or Taxify while in airport.
Eat & charge your device? Go towards the B gates: the sushi place has 2 outlets in the middle of the couch. The next place (opposite duty free) serves pasta & has many more outlets along the windows.
Compact and small, quick security and border control. Take buses 22 or 322 to get to a central railway station (downtown) for €2 a ride, bus stop is 300 on the right of the exit, follow the signs.
Easy to reach with the 22nd bus coming every 10-15 minutes from the city. Not a very big airport, but offers a lot of shops, food places and even the famous Latvian Lido restaurant.Free WiFi available.
One of the best airports. Free wifi, smoking area outdoors, so it's not smelly, a variety of cafés, good deals in duty free shops and everything's easy to find. Friendly staff.
Use bus 22 or 222 to reach the city centre. You can buy the ticket for €2 from the driver (too many 2's!) or for €1.15 in the kiosk left of the airport exit.
If you’re gonna to get the stamp for tax free you need to find the phone in custom zone, call and ask the custom officer to come where you’re. Be aware that it can take time.
Sometimes at the gate staff checks baggage sizes very strictly. Be aware of that! If you stand into the middle of queue so that they dont notice you, you can bypass the check. (To Reykjavik July 2017)
Quick to get through upon arrival. Avoid the taxis that are lined up in front - instead, ride like a local and get a Bolt app. Code CPP1R will get you a free ride into the town of Riga
If you here on a visa make certain that you have your destination address handy. Latvian passport control is different than any other Schengen country in that you will be asked to provide this.
For some reason and ONLY at this EU/ Schengen entry point the passport control requests your local address. Causes lots of delays as persons often have to dig thru their luggage to find it. Absurd!
Thanks for those who wrote about bus 22 to the city, moreover if you have just a stopover for a day here u could by 24hours ticket and see a bit larger city then just Old Riga
Non-EU citizens: if you have transfer here from EU to non-EU countries, do not hurry to pass passport control at the C-gate, as there's only one coffee shop available and u'r not allowed to go back.
Baltictaxi offers a flat rate into the city which is OK during peak hours and for longer distance, but otherwise go by meter. Beware of crooks from other companies!
The international visitors are made to wait in a torturous slow moving queue at the arrival immigration desk and are interrogated with every minute detail / purpose of the visit. Appalling treatment.
There is three or more electric power receptables near B10/B12: in front of toilet, under B12 board etc. And at least one samdung charging station not far from "buffetcafe", zone B.
RIGA International Airport is the largest international aviation company in the Baltic’s and the main air traffic centre in this region offering regular passenger, cargo and postal delivery to the cities of Europe and world.
