Book long stay carpark in advance - crazy money when you arrive. If in t3 head to Strada - it's off the main strip and has the best beers and food in the terminal.
100ml rule: if you want to carry on any liquids (like medications) and the security guys stop you.. then go to the Bootspharmacy, purchase smaller bottles and transfer the meds and be on your way!
Short stay parking at Heathrow is expensive, so try to plan your pick ups or drop offs with precision timing. And use essential services outside the Heathrow perimeter if watching your pennies.
Not a bad terminal. Make sure you go through duty free as they seem to have the best booze in all terminals. Loads of lounge to choose from if you have status.
Arrivals landslide has a slightly chaotic feel. If travelling light, use steps (beside the ramp) to more quickly reach passageway to metro/tube/central bus station, situated between terminals 3 and 2.
Easy to find and straightforward architecture so you can't lose your way. I just find a pity that once again elite is clearly separated from us peasants in the shopping/food area...😶
#HeathrowElf is keen to put a #Christmas smile on the face of 4 passengers in T3 this morning (16/12/13)! WHSmith books up for grabs near their store. Follow @heathrowairport on twitter to take part!
If you are hungry, make sure to get some before leaving the duty free shops and restaurants area. Once you pass that, there isn't any other place to get food..
You can access T3 business parking via the same road as T5 of parking. This will save enormous amounts of time by avoiding the m25,m4 and t1-3 entrance road
The virgin clubhouse rocks...sofas @ end most comfortable, a few extra laptops setup here for emergencies. TVlounge & armchairs at the back. Wifi login on first page of menu! :)
We hope you have a safe trip, but if you need to contact a British Embassy you'll find the full list on the FCO website http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/find-an-embassy/
If you're going into London and need to change to the District Line, it's much easier at Turnham Green or Hammersmith than Earls Court or South Ken - just across the platform.
The checkin line at Singapore Airlines can be slow going. The Internet line is generally much slower than the regular line. The staff on the Internet line are clearly stressed and overworked.
The dumbest way to setup an airport of all time. Your gate isn't announced until 30 minutes before boarding, so every single person sits in a main waiting area surrounded by a mall. Oh and no plugs.
Sure it's busy, sure the queue for Starbucks was massive and sure the WiFi is useless. None of this matters though because you're going on holiday! Cheer up you miserable bunch!
Heathrow is huge and that makes it amazing. Shopping at Terminal 3 is fantastic, lots of designer boutiques & a smooth experience. I only wish there was a Marks & Spencer or Gordon Ramsey food outlet
If you're trying to get a VAT refund, make sure you have every single item with you or the customs will deny the refund on the total amount (and be rude about it too).
