Makes a lovely day out. The village is described at Italianate with the cottages painted different colours. The woodland walks are great, particularly in the Spring when all the Rhodos are in flower.

Excellent afternoon here wandering around what was "The Village" in the TV series "The Prisoner". Nice shops and cafes and stunning views out over the sands.

More of a tourist attraction than I thought. It’s not bad, but not authentic either. Tip: get your tickets online and save £1 on a £12 ticket.

Although Cottage Deudraeth is 10 minutes walk outside Portmierion village, it is a charming, secluded oasis with its own garden. Five stars!

The Coastal and Woodland walks are worth a stroll to take in the scenery. They aren't too far or taxing either.

Come after 3.30pm and it's half price to get in, still gives you 4 hours to look around. Try the vegetable lasagne too, yummy!

Make sure you explore the woods behind the village and beyond the ponds. There are amazing views that few people ever bother to climb to see.

Portmeirion has lots of secrets and stories, make sure you go beneath the surface, learn a little and explore in full, it will reward you with memories.

Best light lunch is at Cafe Glas. Avoid the self service cafe in the town hall.
