If you are walking up from town, out is easier to go up past Bouverie hall, thought the houses and down the footpath into the car park - rather than dodging traffic on the main road.
There are two car parks, one on each side of the station. However, the car park on the London bound side is much smaller than the one on the side with the ticket office.
