    Ikebukuro Station is a huge and bustling railway junction surrounded by tons of food, and shopping. The area is also well known for some of the best Ramen in the city.

    There are two department stores in Ikebukuro: Seibu and Tobu. Seibu means "Western," and Tobu means "Eastern." But actually Seibu at East side and Tobu at West side of the station. Don't ask me why...

    There are daily Narita Express departing Ikebukuro Station starting from 06:43 and you can arrive Narita around 1 and a half hours

    Honey's bar (juice bar) is located at the center of the platform in the line 5 and 6 of the Ikebukuro station (JR Yamanote line inner and outer loop).

    If changing between Fukutoshin Line & Marunouchi line take the underground passage (B2?) to avoid the crowds at the ticket gate level.

    古くは武蔵国豊嶋郡池袋村といい、戦国時代の古文書である『小田原衆所領役帳』（永禄2年・1559年）には「太田新六郎 知行 三貫五百文 池袋」とあることから、中世にはすでに近隣の地名（長崎・雑司ヶ谷・巣鴨・高田など）とともに確立していたと考えられる。

    丸ノ内線と副都心線は各ホーム先端部と繋がっています。 東上線和光市以北からと丸ノ内線の乗り換えは池袋ではなく和光市で副都心線等を経由してからだと100円ほど安くなります

    地下道は「井」の形をしています。 上の横線が丸ノ内線、下の横線が有楽町線。縦線2つは左がオレンジロードで右がアゼリアロード。真ん中にJRが通り、右(下)が西武で左が東武。複雑なようで結構覚えやすいのです。ですがそこから四方に延びる道が結構複雑なのが問題なのですけどねｗ

    最も新宿寄りにあるメトロポリタン口は7:30〜21:00通行可能。南西にしか出られないので利用機会は限られますが、比較的人は少なく快適です。

    副都心線から東武・JR方面に便利な改札口。マルイ側にも改札口はあります。なお、この改札口から丸ノ内線に向かうことも可能です。

    ターミナル駅なだけあって朝から晩まで電車のある限りは人が多く、無駄に迷路なので初見で待ち合わせに使うのは無謀。わからなかったら素直に近くの人に聞く心がけをしよう。
