The main aquarium is marvelous, depth of 8 floors filled with whale sharks, tiger sharks, oceanic manta rays, stingrays and schools of fish. You can pet some sharks and rays on the end of route. *_*

The largest in the world, with 8 floors that spiral down a large center tank that’s 9 meters deep and holds 5,400 cubic meters of water.

Get the aquarium pass from the train station (2,500 yen) to take advantage of a day pass on non-JR train line and a discount on other attractions in the city.

Entrance fee for the aquarium alone is 2300¥. Other entrance fee packages are available i.e., aquarium+ferriswheel, aquarium+cruiseship etc. Very crowded during weekends and holidays. A must see!

Their tanks don't do a great job of pretending to be real, but you can overlook that when everything is bigger and crazier than other aquariums. Whale shark! Giant spider crabs! Crowded AF.

Amazing aquarium with a huge center tank that has a lot of sharks, sting rays and the whale shark. Also lots of different squid and you can pet some sharks and sting rays at the end of the tour!

Really fascinating and huge. There are really a lot to see. Go on a weekday, in the afternoon. You’ll see more aquatics than humans. Stay for a least one feeding session, and you’ll never regret it.

Can be quite crowded so wear earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise. But definitely worth a visit! Continue walking when you see the whale basin as you go down floors and see it from other angles.

This amazing aquarium is open until 8pm. So beat the crowds by coming towards the end of the day - 5.30pm onwards. You'll miss the animal feeding but you'll have peace!

The aquarium isn’t that big. Just levels deeper but seeing the same thing above. If nth else in your itinerary can add this in, near legoland too.

It's certainly one of the biggest, not quite sure it's one of the best. Most impressive specimens of Japanese Spider Crabs I've seen! On the whole maybe a bit too many animal animals for an aquarium.

It's open until 8pm - make sure you check the calendar to see that it's open. Skip the crowded whale shark exhibit windows and turn the corner, there are fewer people and better views as you head down

If you're a tourist, get the subway pass which includes admission to the aquarium (2900 yen); great value. The main tank has many points of view, so don't spend too long when you first see it.

Every whale shark and manta have their own unique designs that allow you to identify them individually. Memorize their spots so you can say hi to them the second time you come!

Good aquarium if you've only seen restaurant fish tanks your entire life, then again this is relatively inexpensive. The notable one in Japan is in Okinawa.
