Take a train and conquer the world! OK, the station itself isn't great, the area is unpleasant, and it's a little hard to find your way. Almost always long lines, try the ticket machines instead.Upvoted 2 days ago

Good to pass through to Paris, London, or Amsterdam. There's a few shops downstairs(most tracks are upstairs), but generally better to get food beforehand if you can. That said-get chocolate anywhere!
Check out the Pullman hotel , beautiful , luxurious , modern and right at the station. Had a great night's sleep there
Abdulrahman Almunayes 🇰🇼January 2, 2023Very nice Terminal. Good trains, on-time, easy access, easy drops by cars or taxi, display screens everywhere for departure timings. Comfortable trains, fast & convenient. Very recommended.
If you are travelling via Thalys you will start or end here. They have a good selection of shops and places to grab some food. There is also a small supermarket here.
Not a great welcome for international visitors to Brussels but if you're looking for a hidden gem head to the bar at the Pullman, very nice and inside the station!- Avoid using this station if possible. Constructed to frustrate the traveler 🧳 at every turn, it’s rare to experience an inhuman institution such as this 😣

Looking for the Air France check in desk? Search the Eurostar terminal in the main hall (in front of Sam's Café) and follow the shopping gallery on your left hand. Or look up for the (small) signs.
No one particularly enjoys coming to This station but it is where you access the Thalys and Eurostar for Paris/Amsterdam/London

Delicious sea food platters, succulent Belgian dishes, very nice cocktails. Excellent and very friendly service.

When you want to have a delicious business lunch, go to restaurant Midi Station (#FF @midistationbrus) at Place victor horta, just next to the brussels midi train station!- There are 2 certainties in this station. 1) you'll probably have to change platforms. 2) Your train will be late. Welcome to the Belgian railways. We wish you an exciting ride :-)
Bring food because at dinner time all the food places are either closed or sold out. Most sandwich shops close at 7pm. A great example of how shitty Belgium really is!
Paul JacobsSeptember 14, 2012It's a huge dump and if you have a while to wait, go sit in the the Park Inn across the road. Free wifi and comfy chairs!
Do not go wandering around outside the station if you don't know your way. I was mugged only 100 meters from the entrance at 6 in the evening once.
Give yourself a bit of extra time to navigate the station, as it is quite large. Food options are limited in choice and quality, but at least there's a Carrefour.
Don't want to stand in line? Use the NMBS Mobility app to buy your national Belgian train ticket online. You pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) and you'll receive your ticket by SMS.
This station is absolutely disgusting, there is filth on all the tracks. They never clean the rubbish. Genuinely shocking to see in the "Capital of Europe".

If a train starts running really late, it's better to take an alternative one, as the late trains tend to get even later on their trip.
Don't get fooled by dodgy guys pretending to be official 'taxis' outside the station. The waiting line does go quick so best to queue to catch a proper Brussels taxi!
Foodcorner has something for everyone. Beware of strange people at the outside(they will mostly do nothing except asking for sigarets).
