- American Chinese food. Ma po tofu is highlight, general tso's chicken is strong. Sit in a booth with friends. Have a beer, drink tea, stay until it gets late and quiet. A relaxing, classic dc joint.
- Paola GuerreroJanuary 5, 2014The Volcano drink is MASSIVE! Not enough alcohol, IMHO, but to each their own. The food was excellent. The shrimp and pork dumplings were tasty but small. The shrimp fried rice was super fresh! Great!
- Giang PhamDecember 26, 2015Reasonable price with a lot of food options. Tried the lemon chicken and it was very interesting! Recommend booking a table in advance.
- Maggie MacGFebruary 15, 2018I love the feel of this place. Comfortable with decent food. A DC institution.
- Rebecca MorrisonSeptember 2, 2013Delicious pan-Asian fare. I could eat a pound of the seaweed salad (but then I might turn into a mermaid)
- Kay JayMarch 26, 2018The dumplings were some of the best I had. The Meiwah Special is also excellent.
- Jeffery JonesJune 26, 2017The food was good our waitress didn't do a good job of serving us but if you like good food I recommend Meiwa if your in Washington DC.
- Nicole DMay 18, 2012Try the vegetable dumplings (steamed) and orange chicken (no breading). Jasmine iced tea is refreshing
- Washington PostAugust 1, 2014Just south of Dupont Circle, glossy two-story dining room serves excellent duck and cornish game hens a la City Lights of China of old. Read more
- Steamed dumplings + kung pao chicken = best take-out in town. Or, eat there and ask for Bob, the manager, who is probably the nicest person on the planet.
- Always go with the Kung Pao chicken. It is spicy without losing the flavor of the chicken.
- Chris WilleyMay 21, 2010Orange tofu is not on the menu, but they will make it if you ask. I find it really tasty and spicy as well! Give it a try!
- Bev GeorgeJanuary 6, 2012The chicken fried rice is phenomenal! Everything is delicious here. Highly recommend this place
- The food here is FRESH AND amazing!!! The drinks are also VERY good and reasonably priced.
- Matt SilberglittSeptember 4, 2012Good food*, prompt and courteous service. *veg tempura & eponymous special noodles
- Sandra RubinchikSeptember 4, 2014The Kung Pao chicken is what's up. (The steamed dumplings are okay, too, but so tiny!)
- Matthew CooperApril 10, 2012Hot & Sour Soup, Szechuan Chicken. Cold Sesame Noodles amongst favorites
- DeLonda BonaseraApril 29, 2013I wouldn't recommend the chicken corn soup, but the orange tofu is outstanding.
- Adam ShunOctober 12, 2010Good asian food and the price isn't too bad. Also some interesting Tofu dishes that are fairly good.
- Mikhail BMarch 16, 2013The bean curd soup is quite good. The Chicken Pad Thai is okay but a same go-to pick.
- Alexandre MunhozSeptember 23, 2018Dirty place and the food was very disappointing. The spring rolls were served cold, the dumplings had this heavy uncooked dough. The fried rice was just eatable.
- HarjitApril 24, 2013Not too impressive for Chinese food. Dishes are kinda blend and seemed for Americanized.
