- Ashley MowreyNovember 22, 2015This place has legit pancakes and waffles. The portions are huge and the ambiance is old school diner, but it's still clean and the food is high quality for breakfast food. Tips included in total!
- HeidiAugust 12, 2017Chicken and waffles was the best dish. Blueberry lemon pancakes second best. Order sage gravy on the side. Very popular brunch spot. We waited 35 mins noon Saturday. Mandatory 15% tip.
- Brian StraussMarch 1, 2019The bubble and squeak while not expressly vegetarian— although no meat is on the plate — is phenomenal none the less. One of the best breakfasts in Oakland.
- Ricky SherrillJune 7, 2016You will feel right at home the second you walk in. Great breakfast stuff and perfect for morning meetings.
- Never had a bad meal here. My eggs are always perfect and the cheese grits are awesome!
- Kirke CurtisJanuary 19, 2013Fantastically varied menu - VERY hard to pick just one thing. Best breakfast/brunch menu I've found so far in all of Oakland!
- Sherry LiDecember 2, 2015Great brunch place!! The fried chicken sandwich is so good! Also, great pecan pie!
- Bubble and squeak with poached eggs or over easy. Vegetarian gravy, greens, biscuit, potato pancakes and more than enough flavor to start your day.
- My gah, you guys, the buttermilk pie! You guys, the buttermilk pie, OMG!
- Elizabeth PriceMarch 25, 2013Every time I come here I insist I'm going to get something different, but then I show up and order the Bubble & Squeak. If I don't, I always regret it.

- Great homey atmosphere combined with down home southern cooking.
- Tim HarrisonSeptember 2, 2012The Buttermilk Pie is probably the best pie I've ever had. Don't leave without a slice.
- Josh TiernanAugust 18, 2012You have to try the Succotash Hash w/ cornmeal biscuit - its outta this world!
- my favorite is the classic. two eggs any style. and u have to order it like that. _then_ tell em what style in particular. medium-over is an option
- The sweet potato mash is delicious and ample. Long wait but worth it.
- JessicaMay 1, 2014I was served burnt English muffins (completely black on the bottom) hidden in mole sauce. Totally insulted!
- Get the shrimp and grits with a side of southern braised greens! Mmm mm mmm..
- Jay DivockJuly 3, 2017They're trading on their name at this point. Chicken in my chicken and waffles was horrifically dry. Not even drowning it on syrup and gravy could save it.
- The Bubble n Squeak is an all-time favorite with the cornbread substituting for the biscuit.
- The bubble and squeek was amazing. The real surprise however was the side of sausage. Not link- patty. Spicy, meaty carmely.
- Monica SmithApril 21, 2017The coffee was great! But the food is below average. The cornbread was hard and cold and the grits were lumpy. Overated for the price save your dollars and go anywhere else
- Try the basic eggs apple sausage and grits! It's quick, and GOOD!
