Good espresso, friendly staff, a nice space to relax in. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Oh, they also have cold brew and Kyoto style iced. Espresso to stay+cold brew to go=happy
Can we talk about that wall of books for a sec? Along with plenty of reading material, this neighborhood spot has some of the best cold brew under the sun. (It’s never too chilly for iced coffee) Read more
Take a break from Manhattan's hustle-bustle at the Library in Birch Coffee, the Gershwin Hotel's quirky coffee shop. This lofty space is perfect for warming up to an old book while sipping coffee! Read more
Cold brew coffe is my new thing to get!! Especially on a warm and humid day in NYC. Staff is great, helping and fast, even in regards customers with VERY specific orders
Great for a coffee before work. They have tasty oat and hemp milk for all you non dairy fans. Good amount of seating if you're looking to hang out. Grab a loyalty card as there's multiple locations
This place has a great nook lined with books and is a cozy spot to work. No outlets though, except in one seat in that nook. It gets very busy so snag a spot early.
Ooh, the Kyoto cold brew involves brewing coffee in a really cool glass contraption popularized in Kyoto, Japan. You’ll have to wait a little longer for a cup, but it’s definitely worth it. Read more
The new age coffeeshop with their own roasted beans. These guys know their coffee brewing and all that latte art. They are a close second in the city after Stumptown. Yes, the queues are long but fast
trendy midtown café. the quieter upstairs library jas power outlets & can be accessed through a staircase located in the lobby of the gerschwin hotel. purchase gives you 60 minutes of free wifi.
Since Birch opened their first location in 2009, they have been dedicated to making a better Kyoto Cold Brew. They brew using their single origin beans for a rich, darker flavor Read more
I wish they would offer milk and liquid cane sugar at the condiment bar. Their espresso is bolder then Blue Bottle Hayes Valley espresso but lighter than Starbucks.
The baristas are super friendly, the arrangement of the shop encourages conversation. If you're there to work, head up the secret staircase around the side to the "library" when you can set up shop.
I love everything about this place!Try the grilled cheese, indulge yourself in a fine cup of coffee. The salads are pretty amazing ,as well. There is a hidden library upstairs. Birch is a true gem
A hidden gem amongst the retail giants of Manhattan, with lovely coffee but no WiFi (before 5pm). Chicken sandwich was pretty special, lots of flavour and good quality meat
A little crowded, but if you avoid the peak hours, try to score a seat in the little library, or at the bar for some people watching. Love the industrial feel of this place.
Coffee is good, but this location has lost a lot of its charm since it moved to their new space. It's a lot more coffee shop and less cafe, with shorter hours and a smaller, less interesting space.
BEST COFFEE I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!! great atmosphere and their sandwiches are Awesome! I was here in vacation but plan on moving to ny. now I have my go to coffee shop! must try!!!
Aside from blue bottle's New Orleans style, this is the most consistently amazing, rich iced coffee I've ever had. Get the largest size or you will be UNHAPPY later.
This new location is nowhere near as good as the last one (it looks a bit half-finished), but perhaps it'll get better in time. The cold brew is just as good as always.
Once I spilled a full ice coffee outside and when I came back to buy a new one, they replaced it for free. They also try to remember you and greet you by name
amazing coffee, great coffee shop to get work done! they also serve beer and wine. Analog weekends = no laptops allowed downstairs, just in the library
Get the Gorgonzola grilled cheese with a latte and take a seat upstairs in the library. Crowded on weekends and at the same time, alarmingly quiet. Oh and $$$
Don't sit in the hotel, as they are very insistent about non-guests occupying their lobby. Go through the door marked "H" and you'll find Birch Coffees cute little library.
