Where all good bucks, hens or white leather shoe convention delegates fly in and out of. Expect tattoos, singlets and thongs and that's just the females.

looking for a PowerPoint and a coffee? Grab your coffee from Aromas and try to get the table close to Gate 5. There is a double PowerPoint with one plug free on the southern side of the Gate 6 door.

With an airside area like a Westfield food court the best place to be is in the VA lounge or Qantas pub. VA lounge is one of the better ones around the country

Get here early, I haven't seen a longer line at security at any other airport and they make international travellers go through 2 lots of security

You can go to broad beach south via 777 public bus in front of the airport. Don’t forget to purchase ‘GO Card’ at the J.W. Smith in advance. 777 bus departs from the bus stop every 15 minutes.

Gold Coast Airport is quite a way from the tourist hubs. To avoid hefty taxi fares, take the 777 express bus to Broadbeach South then light rail to Surfers or Southport. It runs every 15 minutes.

Anyone is welcome in with a security check! Also, you can bring your own food and even coffee onto the domestic flights.

Use the public transport to the city. It's three times cheaper and much more comfortable than the shuttle!

If you're planning to use public buses and trains on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane you can buy a Go Card for $5 from the tourist info counter. Off peak Trips are much cheaper than with paper tickets.

All flights (I think, well at least virgin) have stairs to the plane after a walk on the Tarmac. Also have front & back stairs. Waiting areas are more like a food court than a gate.

Welcome to the Gold Coast Airport! Previously known as the "Coolangatta Airport" - which is an Aboriginal word meaning "Place of Good View". When you see the beaches, you'll know why! Read more

There’s more and better dining options after security check. In the food court inside, you have sumo salad with vegan options and also hungry Jack's.

Small airport and weak services.. It closes at 11 p.m. so if you arrived at a late flight and expext shops open good luck!

Customs are very strict here. Don't forget to declare food!! They'll just check and see if they're ok to bring in or not. Will be fined if you declare "no food" and they find out!

If you're heading to surfers paradise, there's a public bus out the front number 702. Cheaper than a $70 taxi! Also it's near the taxis so don't follow the signs to "bus"

Hire car: Flyers for cheaper rental car companies near Intl arrivals. Big companies such as Thrifty have better deals online and allow one way drive (drop-off in different place to pick-up)
