If youre droving on, check the ferry cam ahead of time to make sure that there isn't an overload. Traffic can back up going into the terminal, so save yourself some stress and get there early.

Walk-ons and cyclists don’t have to pay for the return trip to Seattle. If you’re coming from Seattle, no need to bring a car. Everything you want to see is easily walkable (or bike-able).

You can see a great view of the ferry docking from the overhead boarding tunnel in the terminal. It's amazing to see all the bicyclists ride off during the summertime as they commute back home.

In 1991 the former City of Winslow (around 1.5 square miles of land on Eagle Harbor, incorporated August 9, 1947) annexed the rest of the island.

If you're taking a round trip for site seeing (it's a cheap $7 or so ). You'll have to get off and reboard,so don't try to stay on during the ships stay at the dock, they'll kick you off.

In 1841, US Navy Lieutenant Charles Wilkes was surveying the Northwest, and named this island after Commodore William Bainbridge, commander of the frigate USS Constitution in the War of 1812.
