- Julia JonesMay 24, 2013Check out the East half of the park for a great view of the Painted Ladies/downtown & the West half for a beautiful sunset! Then go back to the other side for a beautiful view of downtown at night!
- SF Neighborhood GuideApril 16, 2013You really can't beat the views of the city. Famous for the iconic opening shots in Full House, the park is perfect for hanging with friends and soaking up some sun. It's a dog lover's paradise.
- Lydia BerkennouJanuary 26, 2015After seeing the Harvey milk plaza, head down (up) to almo square. You can relax, eat and look at the beautiful ladies but also look at the view!
- We get it, you want the Full House picture. Keep in mind the locals have probably had to take that pic 43 times before.. Be quick about it :) Before you cop a squat on the grass, check for dog poo.
- Hide your stuff hide your stuff! Car break ins are common place.Day.Night morning.yep nice park and houses.Save yourself the admission (price of a broken window and your valuables) and look elsewhere
- Brett GarwoodDecember 20, 2016This spot was under construction when I was there, but I'm sure it will be sweet when completed. I wanted to have a picnic 😞.
- Andy WelsherNovember 20, 2017LOVE this park, Lafayette Park is better for evenings but the view from Alamo is second to none
- J TOctober 20, 2018The most dramatic view of the city combined with the iconic painted ladies and a joyful vibe define this park.
- This is a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends and wine. The southeast corner of the park has the best view and grass for lounging.
- Every 1st and 3rd Thursdays and Saturdays of every month at 11am there's a free 90 minute neighborhood walking tour led by experienced volunteer docents of San Francisco City Guides. Fun AND Free! Read more
- Jean-Michel HoffmanAugust 24, 2014Grab a sandwich at BiRite on Divis and walk over to the park for a gorgeous view of the city. It's a gem hidden away.
- This is a great part for two reasons. First off, it is very dog friendly with an off leash area (not fenced in though). Secondly, it has some of the best SF skyline views that you can find.
- Paul RaySeptember 14, 2016Great view of the city and the Painted Ladies, but the whole park is currently under construction and is nothing but fenced off dirt. 😢
- Eduardo OVOctober 10, 2014Super great view, nice to go for a picnic with a couple. You can bring your dog, but a little unsafe if it's not attached
- Pop a beer, let your dog off the leash, play catch and enjoy the sunlight (while it lasts).
- When the tourists ask you to snap their photo, make sure to tell them that Bob Saget lives in the Painted Lady on the left. Keep a straight face.
- The best view of the city, and the perfect place for a weekend picnic or an evening meditation.
- Courtenay BirdApril 1, 2013You can see the top of the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day looking NW from the circular path at the center of the park.
- Fodor's TravelAugust 21, 2015Walk up the hill in the park across the street for the best angle of both the houses and the skyline.
- The legendary shoe garden that was located around the restrooms has been permanently removed by the city of San Francisco because the shoes were non-biodegradable and hazardous to the environment :(
- Michal HanischJune 8, 2014Totaly must see in San Francisco. Best square in the city, beautiful famous view on financial district.

- Valentine's Day MovieFebruary 2, 2010The Shoe Garden is a little-known locals’ secret. Make your way to the top of the park and look for a garden shed to find dozens of shoes with flowers or grass growing in them. #vday
- Amy RappaportAugust 16, 2014Beautiful views and great dog play area. Enough space and friendly dogs and people.
- Ting SFebruary 17, 2016My favorite spot in the city. It's like a hiding trail if you start climbing from Hayes Valley.
- This has to be one of the windiest places in the city. The Hayes Street wind tunnel often dumps fog all over the Square. Visit on a hot day when there's no wind, or come prepared with layers.
- arash mAugust 11, 2012On a sunny summer day this is a great place to learn about the dragon flies & the bees

- Margot FreyAugust 12, 2012The 29th Annual Alamo Square Flea Market is on this Saturday, August 18, 2012. It features great antiques, estate pieces, and handmade items. Check out it out from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
- Painted ladies and breathtaking view of Russian Hill / Downtown from the east side. Another beautiful view and dog park of the west - more fog though.
