- Please do try to support this elderly man. He sells the cheapest tissue paper I know outta all the peddlers I've met. I think he's just trying to make an honest living. I've met horrid ones in Bugis.
- Claypot laksa. Mouth-watering offering from Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei 01-75. Not overly salty, with the right balance of creaminess from the coconut milk. Claypot keeps serving warm throughout meal
- Wantan noodles. Dover Road Kai Kee #01-09 serves old school style, and sees regular long queues. Best eaten as a dry version with their savoury chilli sauce
- Hor fun (stir fried rice noodles). Enjoyed both the beef & sliced fish offerings from Hor Fun Premium #01-78. We could savour the ‘wok hei’ (smokiness & char) with every bite👍🏼
- Zichar. Enjoyed hor fun (flat rice noodles in thick sauce) fr Hock Sin Kee #01-02. This $4 plate had slices of pork & fish, as well as prawns. Lots of ‘wok hei’ (smokiness). Will try other dishes👍🏼

- Roast meats. Fans make a bee-line to Lau Phua Chat #01-20 for their char siew (BBQ pork) & roasted duck fix. Aromatic meats drenched generously in sauce. Free bowl of soup

- Rojak. Decent local fruit salad from stall “Rojak Popiah”. Crispy toasted yutiao. Ask for less sugar and Aunty will gladly oblige

- Indonesian Butter Chicken Rice and Nasi Goreng with prawn paste chicken. These two never disappoints. Prepare for 15-30mins waiting during dinner time. But its worth the wait.
- Pot stickers pretty good from this Chinese (china) couple ! If the filling were to be juicer it would hv been 8/10 !! Worth the try !

- Thai food. Basil chicken rice with egg $5.50. Decent enough. Basil leaves could be more aromatic. Rice was lumpy, too much water used
- Prawn noodle is really good! Must try Old Street Hokkien Street Famous Prawn Mee #01-58.

- Shanghai La Mian has the best dumplings ever! Line up... its worth it ... and go the spicy option.

- #01-57 Soon Lai BBQ Fish serves the best BBQ stingray. Its seafood fried rice is yummy too!
- 紫金城 Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice the chicken rice is damn solid.. I must eat the chicken rice whenever I come to this area..
