- Erik RowleyMarch 24, 2013This is the best zoo in the country. It has the largest indoor desert, swamp, and rainforest in the world. Other highlights include an amazing aquarium, gorilla valley, and view on the chairlifts!
- DonovanJuly 2, 2016Absolutely incredible. Great value and beautiful exhibits. If you are claustrophobic I would avoid the aquarium on the weekends. It can get very tight in the walkway. But for good reason. Beautiful.
- Jordan PisarcikJuly 9, 2012Definitely expected it to be "just another zoo", but I was wrong. It was easily the best zoo I've ever been to. It's huge and modern, and they have some very rare animals.Upvoted 3 weeks ago
- Jen SOctober 12, 2019Very large zoo. You easily can spend all day here. If itโs rainy or cold you can basically stay inside for 1/3 of the zoo between the dome, jungle, aquarium, butterfly and gorilla buildings.
- Kingdoms of the Night is very cool...but please do not use flash photography! Many of the animals are very sensitive to light and they will hide from view when they see a bright flash.
- Jacob SmithJuly 16, 2019I am actually from St. Louis, Missouri but have visited this zoo once a year since 2017. It is, by far, the closest zoo to utter perfection and it is only getting better. Definitely worth a visit.
- This is the best zoo in the country. I haven't been in quite a few years, and they have made incredible improvements to what was already pretty amazing.
- Neal WolffNovember 29, 2017Excellent zoo to visit with a wide range of animals to view. Plenty of ways to get around. Amazing indoor exhibits as well. Excellent value for what you pay.
- If you usually visit in the morning, try coming by in the afternoon (or visa versa). You get to see a lot of different animal behaviors at different times of day!
- Ronda Heding-PedleyFebruary 21, 2017Absolutely the best zoo I have visited! The animals have acres and acres of living space. Omaha has done a wonderful job! 2 THUMBS UP!!!
- Christopher BondAugust 31, 2013Take the sky tram (to your right when you walk in) to the back and work your way forward--less crowds and great views of animals on the tram!
- Dan RowJuly 21, 2013My dad and I have come here every summer since I was in the 2nd grade. In 21 now and we still make a point to come every year. On of my favorite places on earth.
- My favorite time to visit is January. The zoo is near empty and the animals are more active. The indoor exhibits are all near the main entrance.
- Michael DowSeptember 4, 2020Clean, modern and there was plenty of animal diversity. Check ahead for updates & closures.
- Jeffery GeerJuly 15, 2016It takes a whole day to really take in everything this zoo has to offer. The Creatures of the Night exhibit under the dome is my favorite.
- Allyce MohsJanuary 15, 2013November 1-February 28: 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. daily. Buildings stay open until 5 p.m. March 1-October 31: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. Buildings stay open until 6 p.m. Open year-round except for Christmas Day.

- Justeen KellerAugust 31, 2014This zoo is absolutely awesome! Been here twice and I still haven't seen it all! Loved the desert dome and feeding the monkeys.
- Anthony RobinsonOctober 31, 2014A definite must if you are ever in Omaha. Been going here since I was barely old enough to know the difference between a rhino and an elephant!
- Largest cat complex in North America; world's largest nocturnal exhibit & indoor swamp; one of the largest indoor rainforest, & the world's largest indoor desert, & glazed geodesic dome in the world
- Kevin PhillipsMarch 24, 2017You can go here any time of year, even winter, due to all the indoor stuff that will keep you busy for hours.
- Art GorskiOctober 24, 2019Some attractions not available in cold weather and the animals are hiding but then the crowds are small, too.
- Rich JohnsonOctober 28, 2014Amazing zoo. We bought a pass because with my family it was paid for in two trips. But we go again and again. Totally worth it. It took several trips for us to see everything.
- CarlaJuly 3, 2018Absolutely loved it here. Would definitely come back to visit. Needed more than a day to explore the entire place.
- Justin OrdovezaNovember 10, 2014Great zoo! The range of animals displayed here is breathtaking. It's a large park so bring comfortable shoes.
- Darla CookAugust 6, 2013A terrific zoo! So much to see and do, it's hard to get it all in in one day. I still would highly recommend going there.
- Bri HicksJune 26, 2013I've been coming here since I was a small child and I still love it every time! Definitely my favorite zoo by far!
- R WilliamsMay 4, 2014This zoo has grown over the years as Omaha's wealth has exploded with three billionaires living in the city. Easily one of the world's best zoos.
- Kelly DugganFebruary 16, 2013Best zoo I've ever been too, the big car exhibits and the gorillas are amazing and the aquarium has a walk through shark tank!
- Aaron PelsterJune 7, 2017Number one zoo in the world. A waste of time to go anywhere else. Great changes always happening.
- A MJuly 7, 2015The coolest zoo! I love the rainforest and the creatures of the night! But my favorite is the aquarium
- Tiana VictoriaNovember 2, 2014Surprisingly large zoo. Loved the variety of environments they provide especially the swamp area.
- Come in September- the weather is beautiful and its a great place to be out and active.
- Kurt NeighborFebruary 17, 2018Very surprised of what it had to offer. One of the best zoos I have been to.
- When the main entrance is crowded, the north entrance is usually open and empty. Parking is usually available north too.
- Tina VossMay 13, 2013Awesome zoo! Tons of things to see/do and the automated dinosaur park was a blast!
- Kevin .September 3, 2014Something for kids of all ages. Come early, pack a lunch and spend the whole day there.
- Ruth TupeMay 8, 2018The aquarium, the jungle, and dessert dome are the main highlights. Peri-peri chicken was decent
- Benjamin WicksMay 13, 2016It can be fun to talk to the animal caretaker staff to learn more about the animals.
- Make sure to go early! You will get to see more active animals than later in the afternoon.
- Krysta LarsonOctober 29, 2014Don't leave without visiting the swamp and the nocturnal animals. It's the coolest place there!
- Jennifer BaldwinJuly 7, 2012Find the zoo brochure before your arrival (usually in hotel lobbies) and use the $1 off admission coupon for each member of your party (up to 6 people).
- Prairie Dog Hill...so cute, they walk right up to you! Just don't touch or feed them.
- Allison Brown-CorsonDecember 31, 2013Love the zoo. So many great things GS to see and do. I could sit and watch the sharks all day.
- Jake KnownJuly 26, 2013This plaze is wonderful. Have gotten a year membership before and really enjoyed it with the family.
