David HudsonOctober 16, 2016Pork knuckle was great. Beer was great. Pretzels were the size of a small child. Be prepared to sit with strangers but that's part of the fun. Great experience and a must see if you're visiting.
Alex ChiritescuDecember 30, 2017Tried the roasted pork chop and it was tasty, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Get sauerkraut with it, it is quite fat. Don't wait to be seated, just go and grab a seat. Very crowded.

Brad HagerNovember 9, 2015Good place, yes it's touristy & loud but still fun. The pork knuckle, veal sausages & big pretzels are great. Dunkel beer is the BEST!! I do NOT recommend the apple strudel, MUCH better other places.

One of the best restaurants in Munich. Sit downstairs in the "Schwemme" for the real Bavrian HB feeling, or go upstairs to the equally authentic, quieter restaurant. Same kitchen! Also don’t wait to be seated, you seat yourself where ever you want. ask for English menus

- personal favorites: hendl (either half with potato salad or quarter with a delicious salad), leberknödelsoup, haxn. get a side of reiberknödel! The apple strudel is a MUST for dessert - best Ever

Too bad there's always plenty of tourists...- THe big Oktoberfest-style pretzels sold in the Schwemme by pretzl-girls are delicious. Kitchen is open till midnight or later, though a smaller menu is offered after 10pm. Get chicken and apfelstrudel

The building itself is beautiful and they have a traditional band which makes for a nice atmosphere. Service isn't great and the food is below average. Augustiner HBhaus is significantly better.
